This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.

• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes./ q8 t+ W! ]0 S, D9 n' X
• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.
3 z/ g1 [1 x/ J! J• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information.
* f& F% y, c5 E7 \! a4 s• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather 6 c' w+ s0 X# A8 T
and traffic conditions.

• Obey and follow defensive driving guidelines, local traffic laws and Transit system regulations.

• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.

- v0 Y& |. @0 M# Ato be diplomatic and courteous in dealing with the public, from the first passenger to the last passenger

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (operate bus controls, re-set trolley poles, provide passengers with assistance i.e. strollers, wheelchairs etc.).% g0 f8 l- F% s1 [3 S# H# Q( i
• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.# ~! d9 g, s5 }. e
• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training.
: }* k# `. L6 l9 i4 K. [, L• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date) & q' f: K/ o3 `# W
showing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period. ) |, i1 K# d' I6 D* ^
• Ability to pass a written English comprehension test, a public relations video-test, a driving skill 3 _3 f: y& _1 ?% l/ k. O
video-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training).
