JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Returning Officer reports to the President of

2000. The Chief Returning Officer shall be recommended to Students'

2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.# t4 R+ G. Q7 Q

3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.

4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing
- w$ M. m, d0 }+ f8 ~! u" u5 iadequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations

referenda.

6) To report the result of an election/referendum to the appropriate 0 l7 q! B5 Y- M: j# x

To enforce budgetary regulations as stipulated in the Elections

minimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday, + |2 K! o3 d8 p3 w. s5 l3 \
from the first working day after nominations close until the last day
! w" i0 I1 [9 l- r* o! C( Vof voting. These hours are to be posted in advance., A4 y/ B1 {# M6 V U" O
* V9 Q! f$ L- b! t11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during
1 q1 p$ w9 d& l) J, _the course of an election/referendum.6 ]0 s! t" Y. p, c

12) To ensure that a cost effective and accurate ballot counting 2 x- }7 M) i% \& x: R
process is in place.

14) To organize a minimum of one (1) forum to be held during the week * f* x/ R" q# B0 q6 }: }" m
of campaigning.

15) Perform other job related duties as required by the Council

% j" F/ u7 m4 {! B% H* xfor each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students' : j9 Q# n& k* g! T w S
Union member., h; b5 C( m- _2 L! J
: Y; i( V6 a! r% S6 L' e; j2) Must have some experience in student elections.+ C5 o$ }3 W& A( ]9 A+ i# I, B8 A, g

3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or 7 u2 f; m" L3 m2 N! r1 D
any of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position ( Q3 M8 c3 y* i1 @
with the Students' Union.
