ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,

. l9 b5 V% @6 l1 x, F1 aPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
6 k" r' Q5 n5 `5 h  dand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
+ L6 B3 @$ _; K$ }non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
7 F- w; z3 x, r3 ~8 w8 P" Iaffairs at all times.

2 }- l& X7 w& BPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
' Z* k8 J) \8 q, C: A+ Ovision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
0 k% ^5 S) a" g6 Q% M; X* \7 ^arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
  j6 }" b% S5 d3 {) q* b2 cto implement the organizational policies.

7 S9 ~6 Y, D# L* I+ h2 h; HPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
# D. P: ~2 a: T& s+ aas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
8 S/ N' g  t, i' q/ P& Y& _1 ~0 Kservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
( r9 p* d# c# ~+ t8 ]: ]the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

( P* l: Q& Q& V) X$ f/ dIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of

  p# n% R) p( v, ?/ g/ c8 u& d- oKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
& n0 ?( F  k5 U# ?partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
. y1 G0 W' T7 ^- Z* ywork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
$ C& M$ _# n/ J! L5 L5 ~$ l( _+ Amanaging projects and budgets.

+ {$ z7 J/ J1 \' ~% \PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
proposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
