ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Length: A maximum of 15 weeks
Salary: $12.00 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Community Initiatives Documenter
3 T3 F% D6 |3 U+ fThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

% k0 ^7 |5 }% b4 u& r( xEducation Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

% Q, ~( R/ U) g- {' kQualifications:
1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
' d% i' Q& s$ @( I' }* q6 V4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
