+ w9 m! t' c% N% HJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
% p0 y+ i6 X4 yprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
% k8 D" g7 X; }# ^% |: ^2 z. @- Zcleanliness and order in the bar.
& Y# z4 B& l; {# a$ F: f4 ^+ N3 r/ e
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
* n) [; z9 X1 d0 y" `, Sbeverage items.
* {4 Q2 Y8 l4 v- v
9 B- Y, b( K, R; z( p2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
  {: J" o# ]4 x9 b/ ?6 Rbar and debit floats.
' M$ k  p9 b- J" D
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
/ i! e! b8 `6 n) X/ N/ D' veach shift, and upon closing.

4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
; }) `5 F& i+ ~seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

( ^( D  `' \. @! e+ j% \0 s* ^5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
* j# t6 D# L) L( H2 g) s# j/ x* cstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

" r4 r/ z0 E; ?. V# D0 ^; K6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
- {) \9 c- b4 C% e9 I$ c4 N! c8 O- V' bmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
. C& ^  X7 ^- m& hhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

( J  Q4 ]1 n1 @) m2 c0 v3 a7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
  G; d+ q8 u% NSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

- A% R/ J' H' Z) X( PQUALIFICATIONS:
. X! w3 M( F  V4 a8 Q* ?1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
9 V( }. E( a$ y
2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
7 J% {2 F+ h8 l& E( ]operation.

3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
% D6 |: N$ q$ S# g; ^accordance with Students' Union policy.

+ s) n" h- A6 Z: _4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

3 n0 h4 F$ s; s5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
: X+ V" e7 d2 G* ]/ F# oUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
attitude.

Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
7 Z( [% ~/ h& ^1 e$ s/ _purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
