; q  y6 {) ?; ~7 |3 KJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
8 \  g3 Y) }$ tOperations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
! i7 S2 ~4 l7 m$ j& Y5 D% dprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  3 u; c, ^& B  P: @2 N, U
cleanliness and order in the bar.& Y4 O, S6 [# q; P) A

. v5 l6 Y2 p, B* Y: S: {9 D, @DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
& D0 b/ I2 T% J! o1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
+ ?& J* h. U9 {, Kbeverage items.
' S! f4 L2 O/ q  @( B: g& B' ?4 S$ B$ p
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
2 [1 t9 B  O0 n% X- C. E9 h0 Ybar and debit floats.; F% ]- C, `  ^3 G) N7 l( K: g

6 ^( @3 {. @7 k& G0 N3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
2 k; U& L( m" R1 k( W; Ieach shift, and upon closing.
6 k+ a: D9 @9 _5 S1 f/ j$ S( {+ I/ z5 _8 R6 a2 W1 |9 R
4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
1 l: L: _: s5 v# cattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  . J/ Z# J8 O( g) r. f; |  m/ n
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

; C3 [9 @$ y# M( M" r; u3 y5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
4 @* F; Z" T# k/ R) M& L/ i0 Vstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
; ^9 S$ o8 r9 Z' Uproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.
; l* F& K; g  J  b) q- q0 x8 _( J2 J# |$ w* n9 l4 j
6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
% N1 ?, W( m2 I0 `1 smonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
, Y0 T% w% ?% S* r2 Lhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  ' W( ~) e' J2 I' I! c
accordance with Students' Union policies.
& p- j) A: }! \9 l6 C( v: L2 H- l; M7 s: F4 r8 ?
7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
2 @& j: [6 s& A+ ]- u5 Z  rhigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.# `; _: r& L9 F
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  ; d# a, r# x( u  c8 W8 S# c0 O# Z
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.6 Y' k- @! n1 q1 l  G$ l
7 T: r+ ^! s3 J' j6 z$ b9 @
9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
: D2 A: }- ~8 E' fSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
' r. P1 `# o/ a& z' K- q  v1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
7 [9 p: B' k2 l
# a6 [1 x3 R* q( @2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  9 W1 x6 C- d" C" L) W8 z
operation.) |3 _! K# u# n$ ]4 r* j) y

0 w8 f6 S" g, f. a3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
! `/ z( q$ m, j5 Aaccordance with Students' Union policy.
% V2 F5 s  D# l# H8 `, a; k& b% q0 F; I
4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.
+ b* R% x$ {+ b9 }# g2 T6 E* o$ k& W) X: X
5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  : `% s) L+ ^3 u. d1 G) }% N
Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  ; h/ g7 C! L8 p: h  p  b4 d  t
attitude.
