22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  ( N3 s7 F9 h/ Z3 T/ y
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
  s! ^8 \$ N1 B9 z9 Lprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  . B" H: J* Y5 t! X$ }! i
cleanliness and order in the bar.1 T+ ]; g# d2 h& |8 R4 E. \

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:: S4 v4 @' O# A. b
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  6 E; X8 ]! z6 e4 M7 Q7 @
beverage items.
/ A& ?% K# K& u" B: a/ c6 P+ p
  B( X2 Y$ C# K3 M1 U) A( X' z2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  ! z/ i& S- J( |, A6 h! ?
bar and debit floats.
$ O: x, c1 T9 L3 ]5 y9 [5 Y3 q8 ?# P; j; S* O
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  & j" t; q2 P* [7 k: Y
each shift, and upon closing.
( p5 O, @: S( W  @3 n0 V
$ P0 n4 k: J3 B9 N4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
2 w0 @3 r6 ^7 G5 Nattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
& k1 ?1 I' F6 A) Oseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

6 @9 X3 ^) w% k7 b5 s! R5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  % `) Q( ~& |, @7 O0 w
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  ! i4 b% R  Z6 r
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

, K- m0 w' m, Y1 L* M6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  6 }) K" i& U. B& ^, @6 ^
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  ! q1 r( V8 ]& ~5 J9 }
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  ! |0 [0 N! R; ?& o- P
accordance with Students' Union policies.

8 ^! J, l3 [/ q+ P4 ?7 L7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  ' y) d; ]( D% R0 L0 q: j
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.

- W4 {% [. Q+ B. n1 yAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

+ n( |/ m0 G. j6 j: b9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,

9 P$ N: b, a; {( V7 b& A0 u  ^QUALIFICATIONS:: N8 a2 }  \# ~0 ]. r/ ]
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.) A+ @5 r  ~7 e  }* d; u

5 E5 [2 ^' i3 }& o2 Y2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  + f5 L: x1 @  W6 B3 L: z
operation.4 B+ k- ?  v6 \- X

& w+ K' |5 Y4 W& f3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  # U6 n% @2 X7 s# {0 k$ @/ k9 V/ k
accordance with Students' Union policy.+ O5 t( E/ \: Q+ Z( d

4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
* \9 _% v  o1 e$ Q) n, s' ZUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic

Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  7 L, G0 g+ N& p4 a8 h
