Thursdays

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
5 R% H8 g& S6 Ccarrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
/ i  r" |" `. M7 Mcustomer service and room cleanliness.
! \1 }& |+ S: J" T# A
, j# G2 ]* l+ B8 u5 U7 X. p
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
+ U# E+ J7 |4 R, B" M2 I9 k1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
$ A0 w# Z# h1 r- E* b8 e; s4 g; H2 u5 Sorders.

2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
4 j% Q( m2 B* [8 d. mhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

- a; Y  p: @* @$ r# k6 U$ E3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
2 g* I5 N/ I6 ^' [  O7 v7 f0 Y& Ltotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

- D2 L  j) P9 v6 g, a6 Z4 P4 [4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
  S- I% Q7 D( r9 s, l% T" Sincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
8 v. v* _, H+ v/ Y7 {2 g2 Dand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
* L) I$ Z; Y' V1 B9 T. V& E1 W' Iintervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
, Z6 U( ^) y2 d, [6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
1 I* f: j! h1 L" L' F6 HManager.

2 U7 m: j3 Z( _0 OQUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.
. ^1 u* A8 }- X# ?# F
1 W4 g$ O" r0 i4 d3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
7 A5 h' D* X2 ^+ K9 ipolicy.
" r& w$ [, X9 o$ p1 W9 F" x5 O
4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

* y& r! |) o* v( ?0 a- \; T5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
  y# \  J+ L4 Z( C1 Ppurchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
