' K8 Q4 B: F3 J2 F7 @Drainage Services, Asset Management & Public Works
: l0 K6 ~& M; q• Construction of sewer lines, catch basins, access and drop manholes, watermains, feedmains, hydrants, ditches, water appurtenances, concrete structures such as storm outlets.
( p1 ~1 `0 R; o9 c7 P/ [• Digging holes and trenches by hand, excavation activities on major open cut projects ensuring placement of shoring, timbers, and struts; cutting, grinding levelling, jointing and laying of pipe.5 {7 L4 B: {/ Y2 L k3 r
• Repairing sewer services, main lines and pumping stations; cleaning sewer and drainage systems by low pressure flushing; assisting drainage servicemen in inspecting, rodding and televising sewer services; repairing manholes and catchbasins; assisting equipment operators in performing high pressure flushing and vaccuum cleaning activities.) j3 G8 ^! a- P8 {! \0 o! Parks, Asset Management & Public Works
+ d8 y6 r- w( t- X• Maintenance of parks: mowing, herbiciding and sanitation of turf, shrub and flower bed maintenance, marking & maintaining sports fields, playground inspections and servicing.
O* E8 l- v4 o% h- ?• Construction of parks: manual labour using hand tools such as shovels, rakes and stake pounders.: r7 Q; A# U" E. q, u- C- o4 k
• Park service and trail maintenance: including sanitation of picnic sites, amenity buildings, repair of signs, roadways, trail surfaces, irrigation & homeless camps.
! }, H3 f( G# U/ t; l• Forestry operations including various arboriculture tasks- assist in the development and maintenance of the urban forest.* d& ~1 \5 Y" }
• Pesticide Applicators license an asset.) w6 k& J3 z9 {3 S' n1 H

Roadway Maintenance / Traffic Field Operations, Transportation
: ?$ a5 i _9 M( V• Asphalt/concrete repairs, cracksealing, and paving.$ D9 y5 v1 ^3 W9 f- f& f6 I
• Performing structural concrete/steel duties on bridge maintenance (must be able to work heights).
" V7 b3 G6 W. G) d- e• Pouring, spreading, tamping and leveling soil, sand, gravel and concrete.

Recreation Facilities Branch, Community Services
$ v5 N+ ~* [3 N$ m• Golf course, driving range, and park maintenance including turf mowing, fertilizer and pesticide application.
% C. I- } p, E! X, Y) l# \• Internments at cemetaries; concrete pouring of foundations and markers; monument restoration.
" P2 f) U- G' C2 U/ Q- m6 I• Operating and performing minor maintenance with equipment such as: small hand tools, push lawn mowers, trimmers, edgers, small rototillers, and chain saws.0 m9 q M% w& J4 `
• Set up and take down of furniture and equipment for events and bookings at Recreation Facilities.( d: v n" N, G: t, W2 O9 x
• Assists with on-going general facility maintenance and cleaning at Recreation Facilities.

' a# Q" |, w8 s, v3 I. \1 T• Possession of a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Must be indicated on application/resume.
& @& l+ O$ E$ n& U6 ]2 A• Applicants may be tested, and where required to operate a City vehicle, must attain a City of Edmonton driving permit upon appointment.
/ X9 _& |! E# M& L• Physically capable of performing heavy labour work for extended periods of time under various weather and traffic conditions.' {. X; H% r) i: H. n, Q
• Manual dexterity to operate simple hand and/or power tools and small equipment.0 ~) ~, i0 d+ Y# X( F/ v
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.4 Z! p3 I8 E: U7 h+ |* v
• Team player & self-motivated, possibility of working alone on scheduled shift.
- \( ?9 T( e' s; ]$ O0 v2 q$ Z$ eHOURS OF WORK: Up to 40 hours per week. Hours of work will vary with each position. These positions may be subject to shift work, providing coverage 7 days per week. Please indicate if you’re interested in shift work.
