The University of Alberta - Centre for International Business Studies is
currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

- Y8 A" m+ z0 t' }8 `. `; t" S& dSalary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

8 V: W( P6 {% w- l9 `9 WHours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
school year starts.

6 x( o0 h2 A' q, M- b- T  aDuties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
CIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
1 A7 j" c, Z( A3 Qvenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
4 F; R" [' I7 r& x# B9 Dtheir program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
( i# Z5 d2 o4 [4 A3 O( ?! d5 stheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
! ]0 D/ B& v" ], h% s' r8 n/ M/ nassisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
& E  R5 B9 C; ovenue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
, z4 M! s* P$ ^2 C* ?, j* Tpresentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
, J. h7 O, O7 h( |- Nfluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
* \5 Z* j7 D/ [6 V, Wa variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
; O  I& `4 d( t- j2 ?8 JExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
9 D2 p9 K/ w) Zexperience coordinating group activities an asset.
