The University of Alberta - Centre for International Business Studies is
currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job
No. 9246.

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

+ v/ L0 E: d; WHours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
school year starts.

, r* u0 S0 B3 k' ~2 ^Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
- E. Q/ c8 b" `/ g3 B0 iCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
; u' \$ ]* R, j8 @7 jvenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
. a* f9 m  I6 o. F+ p" n1 Ketc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
6 n$ q  C# |# ^* N0 Rvenue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
" B2 w" ]7 ]7 {) X5 J+ Qexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
' [9 p! g1 O1 `7 `% r5 W9 jsuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
% x* w: E6 q- Z, l8 o& @/ dCommerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
" \6 w% J7 P0 [1 Ldemonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
! m4 i3 M8 R# t- J4 x& ?skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
/ M7 g& m  S5 ^' e! N" YExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
