currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

; R, P3 s" J* `7 g7 fHours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
4 z6 i( ~; ~  Athe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
5 d8 {* x3 s0 T6 Dschool year starts.

8 b7 M( M) h) U) g& }6 u/ b6 YDuties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
% C0 ]; w" ~' F6 H; l2 ?CIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
, t# H7 E) I2 ]etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
8 Q/ ]1 z$ S) aparticipants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
  }' S% ]2 B2 k2 c  o8 Utheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
! k' X4 M* I4 d9 N- N2 {venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
5 ^2 [) h7 O  Y5 B" V! Kexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
9 W* A% a8 G3 D4 C1 Ksuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
$ K$ F8 V6 _; `+ d' dpresentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
# G+ g1 W9 D* T0 \6 h) A3 ^Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
$ ^9 w! T- Q! w: ?( U4 P6 U: Qfluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
7 c4 D1 L# }! A. t1 q9 O9 Ua variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
/ o0 J8 D2 @$ D2 F4 c% a( Uof co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
/ _1 ~4 E4 N4 P3 j% x8 m% hskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
