currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
$ e2 X: Z1 G0 c- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
) k1 a" W! z9 ~# c' l) ^5 R3 Othe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
: U$ Z6 R1 h$ \" P" j2 Q% d5 @school year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
CIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
0 g4 y0 ~+ j/ W" y8 ~' Xvenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
' d1 Z9 C+ G' \! H7 e$ h" Q8 Setc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
' _+ }; M8 z  V! [& Sparticipants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
% z, c  P1 {: j6 z! ftheir program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
. V# g, Z- n6 U1 K$ uvenue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
$ m* k5 M/ U2 \7 aoutings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

+ E3 D0 V9 k1 U5 v& X  PQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
( }  n5 {4 Y- ^( Gof co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
5 O. g1 t: Z4 Y7 Z/ s8 h% kskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
" c" S4 v' n- j, _1 W2 pExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
* [: c/ V1 M. ]! }" p5 U( L' b- Pexperience coordinating group activities an asset.
