The University of Alberta - Centre for International Business Studies is
currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
; V& v6 ^& @, r; I: O! A- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
: P& Z5 _) X3 ~/ b% e$ h+ v! lschool year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
: a6 b1 k5 a" n" k2 h) qCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
# i, b' e* Y( d2 g% Dvenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
+ w* |0 s  C( q- D# |2 \etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
( Z2 B& k/ ^& T4 u' f9 ptheir program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
% w' G8 Z, ^% @* J, Qassisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
( _0 b3 ?% q- y" Y( y$ Noutings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
, U  ]7 B5 ^% t# G* x9 qexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
  _  C) b: n4 N% g: C8 ]: Texcursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
7 m. [4 J2 J6 n( Q" N% f: hfunctions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
- ]  X6 Z$ W# Y9 f- t$ Tpresentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
) U, D2 k. d/ E# s  YCommerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
* b- |4 t& `5 W2 Q9 Mdemonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
0 c, B2 `. m* oa variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
! b0 d( b7 H5 ~! e% |9 hexperience coordinating group activities an asset.
