The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.  

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
2 Z  H0 f3 {- a, N1 S9 K) q8 ?for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
; h( J/ U* W7 ]% G7 ?! p: J, k& l, Gcompounds by chromatography.

( }0 ?+ o# X1 yQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
3 V6 r0 i1 {0 i! Sanalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
* Z% k8 S4 u$ Eof a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
  E+ \. q8 y% c4 G( i* Vand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
3 |2 o) E# [; V  V1 a( a1 Nhope to work in these areas.
