The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.  

. {* p/ b6 L$ FSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

0 u0 j8 k6 y/ z5 }& H+ J* wDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
  c  G8 H+ V. T$ Z6 q" ^5 R. zfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
* C5 t6 g' _6 k; winclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
6 @& H  p, x. p# N1 `. T$ qcompounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
2 D  O6 ], Y8 AChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
' h2 c' {  Z% \# M6 d0 _analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
8 a, _: ^4 N# f2 o' iof a team essential.
8 R( e: s: j( T( h. S" iThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
