Classification: Statistics Canada CR-04, Term, Part-time
Location: Research Data Centre, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta
# k( A7 ^4 f& C" x8 w* XHourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)
Employment Tenure: Part-time/Causal (approximately 12 hours per week). The incumbent’s

8 u9 U& {# f" v, `1 [- ~9 S' EStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
weekend hours.
6 C5 U. S! [3 p# ]You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
, B; g) n. z- t9 F# Z$ dlab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
centre.
These responsibilities include:
3 b. y/ U1 p& m3 W* N8 e-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
( Y' Z: i9 v( c# f$ ~7 A7 t-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
6 ]( z" x5 D" Pfacilities’ maintenance, etc.
! j! W! F- r5 X0 Y0 ]4 i3 k" l-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
clients’ files etc.
! T: |* ^0 D5 j& DStatement of Qualifications
Education:
-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
0 j2 V1 j4 \+ Zof education, training and /or experience.
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
' d* ]( F' y5 S+ K0 Q-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
and Excel.
7 m$ C: n5 u9 x9 K0 g-Experience using and updating an information database.
" o: v! y" p! a( A6 @" i
0 n3 r) _+ F+ U. Z& }Assets:
-Experience in using MS Access.
-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
3 [# \2 s. K; |& E  J3 t-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA
/ X* }6 s: [- L( RAbilities:
-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
0 l, K! d( `; T1 I+ E-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
