Job description
5 W( Z+ U7 W! f, O& `5 v/ RStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
! d4 M& D3 ~9 j- o9 |weekend hours.
. p* x/ |* G9 D' n. d8 c# U- |You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer: r3 V: p* r$ f- r$ ?
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
1 ^" `5 F9 f0 k$ `/ Q0 A: M$ ?- Scentre.7 M. r( l {; S
These responsibilities include:
0 h* N' @. z# A0 M1 b3 \: e-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
1 C! k- Y1 _5 u9 Y6 a% u1 Y-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
& r5 s( _! O2 r( H# h0 ^; X4 s! F-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and* I) y$ e9 W6 N! l7 |1 M$ K' k
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to _# X( q) P' f# ^% n( l2 K: {
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
- j) |" R- j9 Y8 e6 A-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic

Statement of Qualifications

-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, 6 E0 Z0 \1 K- C
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination # l2 x' e! N7 C3 o8 k8 O/ u% p
of education, training and /or experience.
. c& X& o* }' R& `/ iKnowledge/Technical competencies:
0 q" ?8 i: m# c$ ~8 q0 X ]; `. x; V-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.) Z1 U3 Z/ N8 D" g; _
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
$ X7 ^, l( E7 A- B. ?; Land Excel.
- I' g% k4 I5 X+ d-Experience using and updating an information database.

-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
