Job description
+ x0 z1 ^- J1 j* qStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
; y! _$ r! o) n, _5 zweekend hours.) p# j! x9 G" X* ~
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer9 M) Q/ E! _ o- v) }; V( {
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the' `, k5 q7 c* M) z5 O$ R
centre.. m9 @& C, d/ r( ^! Q
These responsibilities include:
. C# y: L, O; x) N-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
: l" y/ r. _9 x% c-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
d& T5 f2 [7 _8 x2 r-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
4 _0 u" x/ j: V1 y; W3 s" brenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
9 |& w4 C. S$ H" x/ B3 Ofacilities’ maintenance, etc. 1 p# r$ r4 P& X* O! z% u
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic ' z% T2 D2 c# V' v
clients’ files etc. # Z/ z/ D, H6 s# y
Statement of Qualifications
& \# b% D# s# A2 e/ SEducation: ( c# N/ C& j$ u
-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, * O: t' G( M. B( w
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination " ~0 _$ j( i. L
of education, training and /or experience. 9 |1 ^) ?' H+ ?5 j0 l
Knowledge/Technical competencies: H) E# W$ p) t; b3 j& R: M
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system." M, t x) S! P/ z! \) i4 V. R9 U
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
9 O( z6 z4 }" C7 o# pand Excel.
6 Y) N. b3 O5 v" T# V-Experience using and updating an information database.
/ N2 `3 i$ k4 |; m3 V4 S/ l) D* G. [3 T5 e

-Experience in using MS Access.# C4 h! g; G# S
-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
