EDMONTON — Southgate Centre today began a $108 million expansion to accommodate more than 30 new retailers and restaurants.

/ o7 e6 X0 y9 W" `3 s" b“Part of the redevelopment will include enhanced site lighting and closed-circuit TV security systems monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Southgate general manager Paul Fairbridge.

' _- m+ r: F# t) B& nSouthgate, a 36-year-old mall located south and west of 51st Avenue and 111th Street, now has 130 stores and services. It is owned by Ivanhoe Cambridge, based in Montreal.
