TORONTO -- Sun Life Financial Inc. said Monday it is retiring the Clarica brand as part of a revised marketing strategy.
( G" g' j$ U* V' @1 OClarica was introduced in 1999 by Mutual life of Canada, and was acquired by Sun Life three years later.% S1 l' G5 ^7 m& h& T
There are almost two million Clarica policy- and accountholders in Canada, said Sun Life. Clarica also has a sales force of about 3,500.. h3 B% _6 f# ?- I0 I
' p' t6 d; n* i; m$ h$ `- H3 m6 jThe company said the changes will be completed by the first quarter of 2008. Sun Life will incur a $40-million to $50-million charge in the first quarter of 2007.
