Khadr — who pleaded guilty to killing a U.S. soldier when he was 15, under interrogation that was later deemed "oppressive" — will receive a settlement of more than $10 million, according to unnamed sources who spoke to The Associated Press, The Toronto Star and The Globe and Mail.

# Q+ |% F' G6 {; FThe Star said Khadr will get more than $10 million, but less than the $20 million he sought in a civil suit. Other reports said he will receive about $10 million.

The government and Khadr's lawyers negotiated the deal last month, according to AP.

The Canadian-born Khadr was 15 when he was captured by U.S. troops following a firefight at a suspected al-Qaeda compound in Afghanistan that resulted in the death of an U.S. special forces medic, Sgt. Christopher Speer.

一楼说的很清楚了，赔的是“过分严厉”的钱，而不是他杀了人还奖励，别搞错了。他战场上杀人已经受惩罚了，关在监狱里，不是正常的监狱。
退一步说，战场上打仗做俘虏没有还要服刑的说法吧，如果开枪把对方打死的话，还要按刑事罪进监狱？就是看不惯老美说他把谁谁打死了。那不是战场么？

1: It's Omar's parents that put him into that situation, so it's his parents' fault, not Canada's fault.
! h& ?8 x4 D* N6 p2: It's USA that put him into prison, doesn't matter it's right or wrong, it's not Canada's business; beside, he committed criminal and terrorist activity which he admitted and deserved the punishment.
" M% E/ o$ {* j0 o: l3:As a guy of 16 years of age, not a child anymore, he should have developed his ideology system already by that time; there should be no excuse for what he did.
