Calgary police have now laid charges against an 18-year-old Calgary woman following the death of a little girl at a crosswalk in the city's northwest.
0 D! M2 y4 K) g0 m% MPolice Sgt. Doug McIlwraith said Tuesday that Angela Ta has been charged with passing a motor vehicle stopped for a pedestrian at a crosswalk, failing to yield at a crosswalk, and careless driving.( a$ R% }8 X$ D8 T8 _
McIlwraith says the charges could mean a licence suspension, a $2,000 fine or six months in jail.
% W0 Z/ d& w1 Y- } qSix-year-old Jenna Chang and her mother, Ye Qiao, were struck Jan. 18 by a black BMW while using a marked crosswalk at 32 Avenue and 37 Street N.W.
