Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me:
; z4 z% g8 g, L" Z9 p% o r, e"I am going to send it back". 0 r& | _1 ~0 L" P( r
I did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:; k; N8 ?4 p+ E0 L% B) d; H% v9 k
"I am sorry, what are you sending back?"

"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?"

: ~5 `: U% D' r) {( u; {He took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet. 7 ?5 R$ W- h6 v+ D! S3 {) T
"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?"
) d3 ]: j) k3 m0 a1 T' A( n! y"No, I am not. I do not do those things.", {) r. O8 Q* h+ x1 Z* ~4 b) I2 S
He took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside.
9 Y; F/ ?& }; m% N/ N7 {. q9 w( JI gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:' N8 O+ `+ O! Y1 j; t1 U9 i
"Is it okay that I do not write this part?"
7 s4 d& ], x' r! M"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:
( ~( T0 ?2 f* I$ r; ]"I do not have an address."% A4 `6 c/ r$ X4 f+ Z! t+ q4 q9 S
I was surprised: "oh, where do you live?"
; ?; b: n4 @- L t, D. ]5 CHe did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home."
9 d- Z- A# F1 b+ B/ O! BMy heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it.
