9 ^; K ^) }9 b+ h6 ]4 ~& ~An Edmonton-based trucking coming is facing $3 million dollars worth of fines under the Traffic Safety Act for allegedly operating overweight vehicles on city roads.
6 c/ F$ N; Z$ g R. R$ RA police investigation revealed that between August 15 and September 19, the unnamed company made 1,907 trips to the waste management facility located on Yellowhead Trail and 170 Street.
+ a" [4 [( B6 d" ]& R. B+ qPolice say the trucks were transporting loads that were overweight by a least one tonne each visit. One truck was recorded as being 17.9 tonnes overweight.

Beattie explains that with overweight vehicles, braking can be a problem.
