8 s& Q* u: k9 z) C* V0 B2 O8 }* {8 gA police investigation revealed that between August 15 and September 19, the unnamed company made 1,907 trips to the waste management facility located on Yellowhead Trail and 170 Street.
7 B. K3 I4 q6 gPolice say the trucks were transporting loads that were overweight by a least one tonne each visit. One truck was recorded as being 17.9 tonnes overweight.0 M5 F/ o( ?+ t( j; P
"The company is facing a fine of just over $3 million dollars," said EPS Const. Dave Beattie. "It's a big fine, I'll give you that, but for the police it's not about the value of the fine, it's about keeping these roads safe."# K" c( o' u0 g: p
Beattie explains that with overweight vehicles, braking can be a problem.
