A police investigation revealed that between August 15 and September 19, the unnamed company made 1,907 trips to the waste management facility located on Yellowhead Trail and 170 Street., ?0 {1 x D( M" o) Q
Police say the trucks were transporting loads that were overweight by a least one tonne each visit. One truck was recorded as being 17.9 tonnes overweight.2 w- J8 [. G8 r/ G# B0 b1 v" Q0 p
"The company is facing a fine of just over $3 million dollars," said EPS Const. Dave Beattie. "It's a big fine, I'll give you that, but for the police it's not about the value of the fine, it's about keeping these roads safe.") v1 P6 |) P/ A, p5 h
Beattie explains that with overweight vehicles, braking can be a problem.
