Over 40,000 Albertans have lost their jobs so far this year in the oil patch alone.: a# A y. g, F+ E+ C
2 p A+ w! E! w0 ^, ?8 @So what has Alberta's NDP done about it?
# n# |+ p) ~; h+ e9 ^1 `8 X3 }8 v2 D
: h$ ^ { P# y8 `) CThey just voted to give a 7.25% pay raise to senior government officials who already make up to $273,000 a year!/ w; {4 Z K( n7 n

But it gets even worse. A group of MLAs just voted to send themselves on an all-expenses-paid luxury junket to Boston, to go to a conference about “ethics”. That conference just happens to be at one of Boston’s most luxurious hotels, the Fairmont Copley Plaza. It’s a three-day junket — and the cheapest rooms at the hotel start at CAD$700 a night. Add in flights and meals, and you’re looking at a $20,000 junket for NDP MLAs, all on the backs of Alberta taxpayers.; l' @4 x& r8 a3 T: I& m8 _
& P, [4 j0 k: A- F' Y7 x- q! f" P
The icing on the cake is that this conference has nothing to with Alberta. Most of the subjects being covered apply to the U.S. only — U.S. election laws, U.S. fundraising laws, U.S. Super-PACs, etc. It’s useless to MLAs from Alberta. But hey — all the more time for sight-seeing and shopping!

There are three things we need to do right now.

1. Share this news with all of your friends. Forward this e-mail. Share the video on Facebook. We’ve got to let people know that Rachel Notley's NDP are partying in Boston, while Albertans apply for EI.
& Q* w# Y$ M! u/ U. f8 V& ]3 y, F! W( T# G4 N& K6 Z
2. Sign our petition, demanding that Notley cancel these raises, and cancel the Boston junket. I know Notley really doesn’t care what Alberta taxpayers think. But if ten or twenty or fifty thousand people tell her she’s wrong, she might just blink — and be less likely to do it again. You can sign our petition here, or by going to www.NDPigs.ca., j% F$ _, H: m- N3 y" V. P
" K& K& q% L- ]3. Finally, I want to prove that what Notley is doing is completely unsupported by Albertans. And to prove it, I need to commission a professional, independent opinion poll of Albertans, to show that it’s not just her partisan opponents who are shocked by her conduct. It’s everyone — severely normal Albertans, including plenty of people who voted for her in May, and are now having second thoughts.

That opinion poll will cost about $1,500. Look, if we don’t fund this poll, it’s pretty unlikely the mainstream media in Alberta will. They’ve become cheerleaders for Notley., O# n8 ^$ h3 y) q6 r3 P
