Job Description:

/ M0 ?% f/ ~4 i• Support capital projects and network build activity with coordination, installation, and commissioning duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met.

• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels.

• Plan for and implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.

• Perform cutovers and upgrades on the network as directed by work orders.

• Maintain "up-to-date" site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.

& c; f' |6 @( b3 R• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.

/ t8 W/ Q! b, \& e. {: A% ^+ ]3 M' z+ {$ F• Microwave and Transmission experience (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3, OC3, OC12, IP) • Gain in depth knowledge of key quality service indicators in geographic area of responsibility.

9 ]  u5 g+ k; M: s: x2 Q• Optical Fiber, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP • Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities.

• Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.

• Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.

- m! H4 P  w$ z0 R6 k0 n5 U• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes.

• Maintain current documentation of site status, complete trouble tickets, incident report and other required reports.

• Shift work, overtime, and 24 hour on-call support may be required on a regular rotational basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- y( L6 c3 o- l$ l• 5 years of telecommunications experience.

3 @3 y: M6 G% t. M6 Z: M• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

( P5 c9 f/ G2 {2 {• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

The Manager is looking for a contractor with the following skills:

-Telecom Diploma with at least 2 years of post secondary education -Experience working at a cell site -Must be willing to travel around Alberta (expenses will be reimbursed) -Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Internet Protocol Analyzers, RFC testing and Microwave testing *The manager is not looking for Engineers.
