Orientation 2006: The Action Starts Here! Your registration in the University of

like to thank you for your interest in the My Undergraduate Groups
L" b% N5 k5 W(MUGs) Program; you have been signed-up for the 2006-2007 school year. By
( e7 b0 j( Y6 R4 O3 z/ Yattending both Orientation and MUGs, you will receive a great deal of
/ h) v7 c! Q2 i* b$ Linformation that will make your transition to the University community
. H( I. ~; S" [; }more successful.

Orientation 2006 will be held on Monday, September 4th and Tuesday,
- }/ o- Q- h- bSeptember 4th, 2006. Check in is at 9:30am on September 4th. Your check " b- i& v7 R( u/ P
in location is T B 105 in the Henry Marshall Tory Building, which can

If you are unfamiliar with campus you can visit

5 _9 J0 i6 W. y8 A' |to find your check in location all by yourself, there will be hundreds
6 v; K7 j& \' h2 H' l0 j, Cof volunteers ready to help you when you get to campus. Specifically
$ U% I5 f! }* {+ D' x. J+ klook for the volunteers in bright colored t-shirts, as they have a wealth
& k# O! A1 z j0 r8 s6 _of directional information.
( W" w8 S" n: V: ^0 d! _9 e! K+ h% x3 e$ f* h6 l# L# X5 g
Both days run on a similar schedule, from 9:30am to 6pm, with evening
* l$ E- J. g8 {; ^+ Jactivities planned for both days. Throughout the 2 days you will attend 6 K( U% u4 V: V; Y6 j H* w
a variety of sessions crucial to your success at the U of A. On Tuesday
, e- u+ l: G( O: A/ m( ]1 Fevening we host our highlight event, the President's Address, in
- N1 }( C# L0 x6 f0 A! pHawrelak Park.
) c( M$ u8 \/ f I$ k e# k$ L
' X J1 ]' @+ j' |- z0 C# h! l4 MYou will also meet your MUG Leader and the rest of your MUG group on
2 ?' @# R; s2 ySeptember 4th, with whom you will spend the two days at Orientation 2006,
5 J- e: B* s5 n' C# A$ Eand then continue to meet with for the entire year.
/ j6 d( {/ Z1 f [4 |1 D. w0 Q7 z0 U! a: Z2 f% D
Both MUGs and Orientation 2006 will provide many opportunities for you
0 u. B# i% ~! C- h3 [to get all of your questions answered and to meet other students from 3 {# y; ?2 q; Z5 w- f7 Y, ~ o
your faculty. Among other things, you are scheduled to receive your + N9 [( v" n8 B* R5 B0 |
ONECard on one of the two days of Orientation 2006. To be able to process ! e: Z- p3 ?( b+ W
your ONECard, you will need to bring your acceptance letter and a piece
. `2 I# I& }; ?' F: h% Gof government-issued photo ID. You will also need to bring your Campus 8 n. S7 f& ^) H. ` g6 D1 u
Computing ID (CCID), which was sent by e-mail from AICT (Academic , |& ~' j3 N$ [1 A# B
Information and Communications Technologies). Dress for the weather and
$ F \" W, K+ ~; @bring either money or food for up to four meals (lunch and dinner for the
9 K- i5 @8 r- h) O. ~two days of Orientation).# m( X" g( D! E* U8 _
