There is something to do with the society where the kid grows up. In China, since the kid has a chance to go back to the other parent and grandparents on the other parent side and is 'educated' by relatives, other neighbours and so on, the kid might think a biological parent is more important and beloved than a step parent. A reminder: If your friend's ex-husband is also a legal guardian, the court order may not allow your friend together with her daughter to move to another city far away from Vancouver without the approval from her ex-husband because it may stop the kid's father from seeing the kid regularly. |
