+ Z$ J+ M) u6 A% @ 北美的华人社区里，大多数大陆华人移民家庭有母系倾向。新生儿出世以后，女方父母就来探亲，协助带孩子，这对减轻华人家庭照顾孩子的压力起到积极作用，但从另一个角度看，这个家庭就逐步变成母系家庭。因为女方的人口比例上升了，孩子被女方的人带大，自然也被他们灌输了女方家族的文化，包括饮食业习惯、口音、和风俗习惯。同时，这个家庭也自然地按照女方的家庭习惯运做。 这个家只有男方一个是外人，其他人都一个鼻孔出气。因为他们表面是男家的子孙，身体里流着女方家的文化。 到底是娶了老婆，还是上门当女婿呢，大家自己去理解吧。我认识的人只要与父母同居的几乎清一色的都是女方父母

Because  Most in-laws from wife side are low profile, and help their daughter do houseworks, which help the young family as a whole; while the in-laws from husband side are demanding, and do not want to help in houseworks, they think the housework should be done by the daughter-in-law, which eventually create tension.
) Y+ b3 d& A0 d) h6 h( a8 E# lSo in-law parents should understand, unless you pay the mortgate of the house, if you want to stay in the house, better share at least half houseworks, and shut up criticising.

与父母同居的几乎清一色的都是女方父母，是因为婆媳不好共处吧。
