Responsibilities and Tasks


-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
  Q3 z, s. b/ A$ t$ f8 c-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
% `* z6 e- Q- r4 j# o: t-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
( k3 j; P) K: K3 U* f* D. ~: w-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems

' G$ G/ b6 f/ g-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system

-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

: M8 H- Z) b3 f/ Z-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
% Y+ B( Y- p( [+ y" d+ b3 k# P-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
1 V  E) z* |; }# u# z- D1 {-        Safety tickets are considered an asset

-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset

Required Qualifications
) U2 q7 S. a! \, W3 a- [-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of a four year apprenticeship program
# l8 c0 }8 _! |9 E: H6 ^* ^. f-        A minimum of 5 years’ work experience as an industrial Electrician
-        Trade certification in Saskatchewan or Interprovincial Red Seal
-        Basic English communication skills
-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

-        Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting
-        PLC trouble shooting and programming is an asset
