- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment # b( w4 b- {" }1 O
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements4 }4 j/ i# R" n* s6 S/ a
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines& O# u) B& o: M' R
- Select type and size of pipe required
& {) q( B8 @( w: J6 F- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
8 F7 O: h+ z3 v" a/ P4 G- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system3 L: W# L4 _& C
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems# i3 S; \8 h( U' O
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
9 C1 Q6 ~ F8 r5 G4 z- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
! b0 w, c+ ^" r: `- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
* Z# L3 I K! N: R U" i+ o# D- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program

Required Qualifications
; B+ d% Y( W' Z6 }
& S [4 r3 H, z; V9 M- Completion of secondary school& g3 v; H( U" x
- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation 4 q" |% ]8 o$ `- M) f% I1 ~9 _! {
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset3 D) u: @% H3 K

- Valid drivers’ license is an asset
