Job Purpose:
# S6 Z5 @+ i c4 h. @ ITo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:' K* D! b3 s: v: i1 F. f, x! Q
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;5 ]. K p0 w! C+ J
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;4 w2 S2 X- J: `
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
7 t" H- V. M& |3 d$ x/ ^• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
* m8 S8 C( q3 e2 B+ m w• Risk Management and succession planning;; U; }) P2 w9 R
% [) Z5 N0 u, n, R6 g9 h0 u0 DProgram Duties and Responsibilities include: 8 J+ |+ M0 v, n5 K
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;4 x; `" v1 Y" v( ^) E0 g: K
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
0 Z6 q; Z* m! S. W• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
2 S( S; K h/ j, M• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities s: M( ]" g7 x% f6 W
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
- g" s& z2 {, f8 P) E. r/ w0 d• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;8 m6 O9 Q, p# o( t3 I
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;% S' s* f: U. i* U# v& P0 J
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
; F8 H1 V) z" ?. H# t) k4 F: g• Degree in communications, human services or related field;' p/ ~3 @) h; q
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
4 M$ ?* G& V4 Y* C• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; ( ~0 p* l# r" P: J, S/ Z
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
" ^! s, h5 |8 A* s# ?• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
" s3 v& G: d1 h$ ^$ |& f( g7 R• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;3 ~2 a; S' P6 t7 _" i
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
. J: ]- H; H* @4 ~; `• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
! m) \$ E6 ~& T+ O! w• Current valid drivers license;
7 ~ D" n5 G5 I! q• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
8 b4 k) U5 I6 e" m, t* Q' H• Conflict resolution skills;
# V! T& U6 e* @/ L1 i• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
