Job Purpose:
% z& ]" t# v9 @To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 4 w& k( g* b+ {' Y
. S6 Q1 M" q4 u: tThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)- a, s' I2 y4 O/ A. D! D, @

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:* T/ G; T+ }4 r; ?8 `
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed; { Z: T/ Y% A5 M! i5 G; u
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
" a8 O3 {1 N, I, ?: w; s' J• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;7 C' B5 E8 j! ^6 F# H4 D7 ]
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; # ^- B7 y" X2 q5 `, f
• Risk Management and succession planning;& m. @! I. z. m" J3 e2 J8 a+ l1 R
5 o6 s0 J# j2 y) x7 a5 i4 TProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
0 r6 K9 `6 b* \1 d0 e+ S5 q& F• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
9 ]3 _5 u" y0 Y- d$ H, D9 W• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;0 c$ @8 l! |' x6 L
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;. G# }- T. C& n: Q' S/ f
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities/ I3 N& _6 f' `0 [3 W
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;8 G, @& }9 q- W; e9 | y
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;' S( o! ?/ ~$ ^- R, n& i& L
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
) Z& s. h5 W$ w' r( N3 ~$ U, g• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;1 P/ N4 S- |- b/ L5 ?4 F2 Q$ F

Qualifications:
- w- B( n- b& a% k( u" k• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
' X% p" o" e' U- y( K* P• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;1 m4 E8 P3 W# z4 F# V0 J- C2 i
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
* k4 `' ~2 e: [1 S• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;0 B( w. `2 P0 |, R
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
* p: e& u! F9 x* x4 V• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
' m* P: {7 p, v7 M• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;4 {- @" i: `& n" t$ S
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
& D" A: Q5 {! U( ~: [: Z• Current valid drivers license;
# z) L4 b* P: B( N• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
2 C- b, b, F3 P• Conflict resolution skills;
5 G( K, M" d) u• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
" L2 v- P U/ L3 T* @: D; ~• Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
