To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

& u& z6 i" c1 p2 Q9 bThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)% X% ]7 R" O% V) m" j

& \! y# L; R( f• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;/ F' [4 ]; v: W( _& T6 y
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
1 t1 x4 D. J/ r• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
4 f3 j6 S' u' h7 Q0 Y' G+ p; F• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
, D! S* t8 K" n• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: 4 ^7 s# x5 A9 x0 m6 N
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;) V4 I5 P% q3 Q: r: F h
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
% x `$ d" k8 y0 I• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
3 X0 m: L. K; U' [& O/ B" Z v: G• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities% [* p, {+ C" [; o
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;4 e5 R G5 f+ M7 \* s
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;

• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:3 b$ R6 }1 Q- W# f
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;1 O# c$ r0 c# Z1 k4 N# \( O
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
+ e+ ]3 J" U" D) C• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; ( j! h e. U$ H# Y
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
( m( T4 P }) M0 J n. N7 A+ V• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.8 X0 a! A. j% o3 o1 Z
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;3 e: ^. {! z( M u6 u
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;( M6 a: F. G! a8 \! c$ r5 h9 H
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;% c1 i0 x" f8 R6 I# j0 d, }
• Current valid drivers license;
. ~1 |" _3 ]& G• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;/ d9 r- _' @9 ^ C7 i
• Conflict resolution skills;
$ t9 Y+ t, y$ k• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
