Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week

' \% M6 A4 O. }7 C6 T- submit information for community news
/ x, ]/ t3 C4 A! Z9 q( s" H& `# ^6 Y- provide volunteers to update membership database
+ y$ K" F" H% U; B- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
, l4 T7 N1 p) l0 Q9 s- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
& J% {. E2 u% \6 Z- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties$ S' m$ N% v3 C9 D) m+ l
- provide volunteers for various programs 0 |' G5 i( s# P' L# V5 t
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
3 @3 f/ q( w+ n, C* u- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
9 \: H' v. K, m6 s# J- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
, O& n; l8 c9 f# U) K3 u" U- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services" W2 B) _2 J7 N P: L( {- {. z
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports) c. |. J' d2 X* J2 ^# D
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed2 K8 a: |( y! Z6 T4 Q# j- M
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed1 ?4 b) e a) B, E. m/ k4 C
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
3 x7 i* E4 K: B E2 s- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events ) b# S U+ T) A1 y" D3 T
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual " F, W4 R. V* b
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
* {/ t1 D. X$ f5 ^5 N) N- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
! C5 h& u1 B) Q# i- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

( K2 L* b3 T0 X7 a6 n% l1 B6 H) v! l- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education9 t3 O* H8 N0 `7 n% Z* p" k: [! ~
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills) F7 a, W! L( [5 V2 g% A6 {$ c) T
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
& Q7 z* @3 h+ w. w9 u; ]! f$ t6 K1 Q- leadership skills
7 h# b# i$ M, @- management and supervision skills, o' M, l6 M) m$ P1 l5 F
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills. v/ m1 W8 s7 I5 B6 [
