Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week

- submit information for community news ! i2 ~ s+ @% p
- provide volunteers to update membership database
3 G; J% u+ ]! \* E; D( @- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers. }; w1 n* X4 e+ O- y9 q' m
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
3 H6 w# M7 {7 C- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
$ o" B! y5 ]0 `# s$ u% i; a- provide volunteers for various programs 4 _. X7 i1 I& ^3 L" G
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual0 t4 _7 P, C7 e) o
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
$ G: C9 {: i, w t9 w- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
6 c( S( e% O" i- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services9 E4 ?% K3 I/ |9 G1 p
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports$ E1 v) D1 ?9 Y2 R, O, a3 M& j5 {
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed: t- @( V, A4 V& t G) r q
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
6 u) b6 L+ r, g7 T- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
- p2 A! N7 v: o" x3 N- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events $ E- E$ D4 D3 R q+ V
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual * l. O3 B% `# p. C$ K
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
* o3 T" d3 O% W* R \- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers * b- e4 [1 e5 ]/ E4 L
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre, v' R% j0 E) C k

Qualifications
- R5 {! s6 \& v$ I8 ]/ d( b- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education0 o/ _, f9 @: ]% @4 \ A8 r; ]; Z
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills6 x* b7 V( c2 T
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services8 [8 t8 j) B% a) C9 Q
- leadership skills
