Key Responsibilities

" m/ a. V) i/ T5 s* G9 q! f- provide volunteers to update membership database d& u3 z% t1 ] F7 f0 i
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers$ ~0 U1 c9 R& W" q' Z0 ?$ w
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties) _# b: U0 ?6 M, _
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties2 c) i: R0 e% A3 J5 a0 {, h
- provide volunteers for various programs
e! b6 ^9 J( H1 `) _4 \ _7 W- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual Z+ U0 o0 ~- M
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation" s3 w; z9 F9 g! s! l
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
9 Z& S& ?, f- `/ s) U& {- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services7 |8 E, x: i+ Z+ C) j( T
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports0 V; n+ X4 K' E! @5 T( E
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed1 X9 Q) d4 b& e9 a" ]0 y: l& ?
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed5 s- y* {6 U/ p! t5 b2 W, d
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
$ h# f, D( u. d9 Y! b4 o- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
4 j: c$ z" e/ g Q- development and distribution of a volunteer manual ( o: g( f5 V0 }/ T# a% u
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
6 O& e" y1 O& y. R$ m: e- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 8 Y8 T" Q+ y! o* |
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis $ H/ p$ a1 h3 b* S) {
- evaluations

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education; H+ u! f' l8 t
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
! c' A) L. U+ L# h* C* S7 l' j- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
# T' i+ Z4 e8 r- leadership skills* d( D7 }! o. b3 s
- management and supervision skills
