Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news
- D; a, Q3 D+ @# P) O- provide volunteers to update membership database+ s+ G) E( n& d; G/ [8 {
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
! e5 W7 n& U1 W3 }: h( P- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
C, k4 D9 g* f2 Y$ U5 [" U- X) K- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties& j, Z/ A! Y& U
- provide volunteers for various programs
1 x7 z5 A5 }0 }0 P) U! d. ^$ r! M- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual E9 v+ i$ d- [* G& j; u
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
c9 `+ u, ~% R# H' Q" ?& O- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities& S1 `5 |' U {" a# B
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
2 r# k7 w8 L5 e/ w# S& _: l3 U9 W- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
0 p, p! \( [8 r+ ~$ |& B' C- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
+ V6 N; U! D1 D& B v- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed3 y& v* _' X/ V& x' y/ g+ c
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)6 e/ D1 k& F( _# Z
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 2 F; u/ c4 U. \9 H
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual ( t6 ]2 e/ Q0 P# F! a
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 2 S1 K3 M. m* l+ D( n8 B( E
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
5 J9 y n" i1 j4 H3 h& N) b7 N- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 3 D1 i4 x" |" E3 B
- evaluations
; y+ K4 C/ E! P! V- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications( p7 B1 A3 z' c1 B3 {6 w
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
9 C' x9 I' U) F. W( w- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
& H$ [- U/ _8 _; F# v7 g- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
% i" x4 X5 M4 U1 t- leadership skills
: T3 {- y3 g; e5 L8 s- management and supervision skills
9 } y: l. P' z# z, F8 S: F- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
