In general, key aspects of the role are:
/ r( y8 w/ @  }# L; y-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
technology;
4 V# z; Z4 l' J$ u& [8 M' G-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
( H+ |) H2 h3 a; q. |( F* e) G  v-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
-        Participate in peer reviews;
' ~9 }2 z2 @: ~) n3 N) g- X, N-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
-        Programming planned enhancements;
-        Testing system changes;
! I$ c9 S/ M8 v9 e; s5 `: O-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
2 {3 k: C, f0 \& j3 ?+ n! e6 z+ }department’s change management processes;
7 Q. x- Q' A+ e% y+ d1 |- M" K-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
# ~, s" l7 m2 W9 [. d-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
+ V) I$ V+ l) P$ k% k6 l8 p5 _-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
-        Lead short term projects;
-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
9 T6 }& H, C$ I2 P-        Excellent written communication skills;
! x0 a3 p7 j- [-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
effective delivery of service; and
-        Understanding of project management.

1 T, q6 n" Z4 f8 m(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
for incorporating new technology.

(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

0 S" w' o% _1 d. L' y; D(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

" Y' ]7 F/ P4 ]9 h: v(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

4 a$ {6 [% \* E  ]: t(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

+ t7 f" V8 s2 F7 T: H* h0 a; C5 O" m(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

B. Desirable Requirements
(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
- Infragistics controls
- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET

- Crystal Reports
- Pdflib
; L. L1 h$ ~( x- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

3 w/ [! I1 o0 ~1 Y$ }' g: p7 a(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
) k6 Y, G5 W+ m- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
0 z( |( {- s, ^# j0 N. W- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
8 V* |6 u! C; [- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
