• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed( B+ k9 H( h+ F8 N* t' k4 u
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
+ F# k3 d; N/ D8 k3 X• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers X* B# \ d+ K- W! R, H
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams3 @4 a: C/ m, ?! ]5 C0 C6 J; H
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
5 b# C$ ]- c4 u7 _9 ^• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment7 |# u4 \$ p( l3 N& n# x% |6 n
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
9 ^2 l D( I4 Z- h• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting0 H* L+ P& k& }( X) U$ j
• Mix paint, blend and match colors/ o/ F0 Q" y- b M
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns: Y0 e6 e4 W+ y" \% {
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs% f7 d* F9 F+ f4 ]
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation8 g5 e9 q. V* h- Q' g% {% c/ J
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling: S) M; d* K$ Z* Z7 a
Education and Experience Requirements:) M; g& R7 z* }# m& z
• Completion of secondary school is required: |) {6 a. c# S# k" F8 y
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program ) [% e' m: s- U, |/ Q* i
or
) }) Q8 R- m. B) MA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
! _9 U& [/ F2 K# _• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory ! k2 i5 s4 E* x+ Z+ f
