; t' ^# K- w4 O U/ B5 R% e• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
. ~( [: {+ z. w! z• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
9 {! u) X3 H2 h- b! \$ X5 A5 R• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers' R& g; w+ ?' }7 [
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams/ R0 S; Q; O! z5 y3 j& [% s
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
' u- k Q3 Z7 l O& U5 O) U8 p• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment" @7 z9 X+ {! |& R1 h8 i
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools, W* y1 v0 u8 |( ?
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
; ?2 c# r) ]2 O* t' z" ^5 p• Mix paint, blend and match colors
( X+ q# y& h; R! m1 z- o, U• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns" s. ]' L* q: `. b- Y6 P) s
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs* Z, z- m" H7 @8 O, f
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation z/ r/ t$ \. h. g
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

+ y9 f" Q5 Q* x+ A• Completion of secondary school is required
; x" y7 ?, _2 [• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program
! V9 Y+ u, p- L4 r4 q7 z3 Y3 qor1 m- Q; \) R* G
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
* m0 z* {: z2 w! X3 P/ {• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
