Job Description:
: E- L* ^1 I }• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed, m4 w( w- c" F: E- p! H" S. k/ z7 d/ W
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components% ?6 i r/ ]( K; ^9 C
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers0 j( r1 y0 [4 ?% ~$ l
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams% F% E. |# h" } p% _
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place3 M6 h" p4 \; ~' V6 {/ d v
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
5 G4 m% C6 }& s6 K9 P• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
3 y8 z" ]9 V u8 b• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting- a9 _, S2 |* P- l; b
• Mix paint, blend and match colors
) ^" H n" K0 p7 ~• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
0 ]0 X+ x3 s+ ~' K2 V+ A( N• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs) y6 ]+ R0 y' \8 \, x3 r6 ]& _& O8 }
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation% O4 A& ~, Q, E' w6 K3 T5 K. \
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling
( s; b* U* F' y" Q6 d' Q: k2 lEducation and Experience Requirements:( G( V3 F7 B$ z! W% O
• Completion of secondary school is required
% P7 a* c' ?. A/ @• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade % u9 c6 u6 w, S1 e
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory ( {( b, G7 N' [: o
