YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

Payroll:
) w+ c) H" ~" e0 L+ f, p! u• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
4 a8 l ^) \; o; U0 f• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
: |% z' |9 x1 k) d5 T0 x• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
6 t" V; ~4 b) y a• Input benefit deductions into payroll0 E5 {4 _1 d- b6 V
! l& A- l5 K) U+ L/ M) m% w! hReporting duties:. t, d! {9 Y( j1 @
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
+ Y2 p: d( G+ m* N6 t# v• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
2 U& `& l7 r' T$ y• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
* l" G( X' E% K, u, Q) }• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority

Compliance:) g! O) e( a, w- x
• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
1 A0 S, J: u% L5 j! F$ A• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
z. y. }9 i2 d, U. }7 G( U3 f* V• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
, ^( C7 y4 a& P! ?5 q* J# t- {- D( V• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting+ f3 Y& P4 _1 i3 {& n9 N" L5 j

Accounts Receivable:9 Z' W% U r! j7 ?; c
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
! A7 M3 _/ U# I2 |, h( `• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
' o6 n7 U! f% n5 Y0 C- |• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments1 I% _: ~' v) S- {7 @
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing# a/ q: z, j' Q* G

Qualifications:$ \. R4 t0 J) d2 a& r6 R
, {3 T* {" x7 t' N; W2 I2 F• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP+ S) g: I0 ^- T$ Q& Q4 F* C
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association+ l0 R- |1 J' q! z
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position& L D3 @1 A/ ^. q. c
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office. z% y( ]% w, x3 {' U
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work
