Job Responsibilities:% m% r, D. U4 T! a
' B/ i# `' ^& n* M0 FPayroll:/ S& E H7 @+ c+ F
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
$ ^+ ^4 E) T1 S4 C+ Y/ R1 s• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll3 P% u6 W( O" _2 `5 D# N
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
( b- B3 ~) ~9 L" _" E4 Z• Input benefit deductions into payroll
" e- d0 I9 M' t8 G& a/ I/ u8 l
Reporting duties:
, U. E0 h2 l5 L• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider; ?& h1 h6 }* m
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
9 S; t# \+ c' M- h• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s+ I' v6 C. L6 x) E' Z$ t
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority' u+ ~) p" d2 B( [- }# Y
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations% T- _2 d9 e- N! Z! u
0 c+ y: K; e3 B1 k2 a2 [Compliance:
4 f& x& B5 `" Y7 v8 r' @• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
. k0 e& A$ C- ~; S• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.! \* f) G6 [- |
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies5 Z! ^0 c$ e+ X9 E/ I, @
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

, N- F- i+ ^+ T7 c: \• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
7 q/ e# W1 U! a0 C1 T9 {• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department4 I; C$ q- C& b( e- f4 r6 ]4 u
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments( F% I x1 G8 A i, W
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:

: ?% u' T: ]" f8 z! V" H( L1 e" Z1 A• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
) {1 V. M. i* @( J# }3 \• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association9 W/ N6 K6 K: @# P
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
, d7 ^5 Y5 w4 u& Q1 z4 z• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
# N5 J5 k% V1 V+ O+ B• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work
