T.A.N.G. Youth Program is an educational and activity-based program aiming to equip 5 r+ h$ n" g2 V' p, l2 @
Asian youth to make healthy and safe choice. Recreational challenges, volunteering ; \& S" P, C5 ?& A: `
opportunities, leadership training, as well as educational sessions on / [- | S: {* |$ ]" n; q
interpersonal skills, anger management, personal development, % @) F$ [7 D: e& c
and Canadian-Asian culture are some of the ways in which this goal is achieved.

Each session presents concepts through interactive activities that encourage active discussion and participation.

Regular Spring and Fall Group Sessions: runs on alternate Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.

Who can participate? }* t3 D. e T0 }! c6 x4 g1 r
Asian youth aged 11 to 15, who are new immigrants or locally born Asian living in Edmonton or surrounding area.4 _- ` q7 }5 d% L0 V9 @4 n3 |. F
$ o# X( Z/ o5 B, k1 [$ [What is the cost of joining the T.A.N.G. program?0 r' W7 D H0 M7 y
It is FREE and space is limited to 15 to 20 participants per group.& l# j& I- ]( ]4 d% D# J5 B) z, {* _0 z

Volunteer’s Duties:
) p% Q- d. k! b8 i d
$ D/ ~! L- B+ }. A& x; W Distribute promotional flyers to schools, churches, communities and social services agencies - A: y! x' ~- N# C
 Facilitate and/or coordinate activity-based function such as to host a gym day or sport tournaments or workshop on personal growth development , M5 m7 c b: a# F' |3 x
 Facilitate or assist in ice-breakers and/or other activities

 Research activities related to the sessions’ topic* g! p+ r% f+ D. d% y+ w

 Assist in program planning

$ y. P9 k9 X8 n. }: F On-going volunteers (we have volunteers dedicated themselves to the program for almost 4 years)
2 ^' v$ H# @: e2 z, b One time volunteers: minimum commitment is one seasonal session, i.e. 8 – 10 sessions in Spring, Fall or Summer

 Mature, patient, organized, willing to take and follow instruction from Program Coordinator

 Value the building on strengths of children, youth and families
