T.A.N.G. Youth Program is an educational and activity-based program aiming to equip

opportunities, leadership training, as well as educational sessions on
& O6 H* {) `% d8 \' ~: ointerpersonal skills, anger management, personal development,
2 N) w k1 O! k, K h0 A2 z, Dand Canadian-Asian culture are some of the ways in which this goal is achieved.

Each session presents concepts through interactive activities that encourage active discussion and participation.% D0 t% q9 _9 Q. C) M

Regular Spring and Fall Group Sessions: runs on alternate Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.
0 f! j' L7 j& ~* Q' LSummer Group Sessions: 2 consecutive weeks in July from 9 to 5 p.m. daily
4 z6 ?% O0 d/ V7 o( C, N 2 consecutive weeks in August from 9 to 5 p.m. daily9 {: r4 W3 A6 L4 O

Asian youth aged 11 to 15, who are new immigrants or locally born Asian living in Edmonton or surrounding area.

What is the cost of joining the T.A.N.G. program?
9 o/ w1 [0 G5 d1 t- o# T/ J9 N/ e5 QIt is FREE and space is limited to 15 to 20 participants per group.

Volunteer’s Duties:
+ i) T# ^, d' z$ O" m' G, R1 a: `4 _ v8 `+ k8 B* l
 Distribute promotional flyers to schools, churches, communities and social services agencies v: G k. X. J" a! @
 Facilitate and/or coordinate activity-based function such as to host a gym day or sport tournaments or workshop on personal growth development
) D5 I% ^/ S" z4 i: Q& i9 _( l Facilitate or assist in ice-breakers and/or other activities+ r) H. y+ t! `4 ~
 Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
) Z9 g( o$ v, ?( N, q+ e Research activities related to the sessions’ topic
; B- ~8 _' F" r4 ~. u$ g; q Enforce safety rules during program sessions and fieldtrips

Volunteer Commitment:

 On-going volunteers (we have volunteers dedicated themselves to the program for almost 4 years)
& h) y/ U, q+ m/ I One time volunteers: minimum commitment is one seasonal session, i.e. 8 – 10 sessions in Spring, Fall or Summer

 Open and willing to initiate and maintain a positive relationship with youth in the program

 Able to work independently with minimum supervision' R: \' q* P( T) e' J
 Value the building on strengths of children, youth and families
