In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.! A k& m) d' X: ]

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.

• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
, G; b2 M/ Q. x9 X( s, J; W! S• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners ( P/ |5 a2 e1 ]$ U* _
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation f4 y7 g- V0 P" |+ A
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs " I2 Q% n! r. M9 f% u
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits / e5 u0 _0 u+ C2 v/ _1 N h! Z8 s1 ?! M
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses , g* W3 V; v, L, T% t( _& X1 m
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada ' A& R- t3 P- p4 e5 d% |$ ?$ D
Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
- D) F$ s0 C# f8 d8 s3 E( E* A• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada $ c- s. T% ]9 H g1 J, V4 V
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
~( J- w) }9 c5 _7 l( _, {• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
1 a0 ^, S4 t5 o ]3 l+ |• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities $ R: Y" d& A+ R' \
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
* j+ p* l% z4 V9 [; {# J• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required & o0 G# q& J6 h
Other Activities:
) z! Y" Q* o$ g• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
, p& E0 t4 I# n Y5 ^& W) i• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
/ H' q+ n1 o/ ~. \- @• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
1 d# G6 Q7 q( i* |) J5 I, @/ s h ]& T• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports ) j6 v8 Q5 U1 J5 y- ?7 T0 z2 B' s
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning
+ c- j' s" {& N# o v- O+ G, LPrimary Qualifications: 2 k2 u6 u/ B5 j: T, E6 w8 @ p% V1 C
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
9 f+ u' Q) K4 A9 R• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
5 P$ |6 ^* b2 c# m$ M• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training - |: ^% m3 y9 U' z
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
) Q$ ^, J! e% a' R* L! j0 W8 Q$ @2 n• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc 2 |+ t5 Y" M+ z/ B0 d. U, `2 i
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
8 r0 O5 D% x3 s5 _4 Q; @3 c! |• Content / curriculum development experience ; Z4 r1 W) k* @* \, ?1 x
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners ! i! |1 L1 P0 G7 H0 I- _ M
• Excellent organizational skills
! f. ~6 S' s$ o6 g( M. z/ U. t• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
