Job Description
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
% @7 ^4 g- d0 H+ q0 W4 k- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
- \2 q- K# s9 t/ V+ G& Z# a0 u9 u- provide support to ISP staff
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
7 ], u( B" ~: K3 C- O- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
' t9 ~9 t: i" i/ u- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
8 y; l% S* o( n+ L5 W) O- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- other duties as assigned

* T7 \+ j+ ]' l( z6 U% TQualifications
) [0 {4 A% a6 R7 D8 r- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
& i2 R5 l, @* b5 s  J7 `( q0 I( L3 d& y- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
. D& ~1 D5 B/ j1 k3 ]- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
3 @- ~  O9 ]. K# w8 w9 r, Y: v* I& q- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
- good interpersonal and people skills
- good organizational and coordination skills

- must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Salary
- x5 _4 p, {/ u9 x3 g- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
