 Marketing, promotion and direct placement of clients to employers.

Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer

 Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met./ h' l8 r$ S" Z( S
 Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.
4 F/ O& }0 R: {0 P) C Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.
% k( ~% f6 X! U) ~ Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.5 c/ ^$ d+ S4 E% B0 s

 Be required to work flexible hours, with some evening and occasional weekend work

 Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.

9 D9 b% a7 f" X  o Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
" O7 r( [" G! U5 }% [ Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.
$ q* O% N' F# c* @2 i" Q Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.

 Represent Bredin Institute at meetings, conferences, seminars and other events

Assessment Officer
1 @+ G0 N$ A6 u7 O+ a4 ^ Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.! d6 S8 f5 ]$ V9 S! d
 Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.
' @. r+ i5 p/ j. { Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.: p$ |% Y6 o! s1 Q& z, ?
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.7 Z3 O% ?1 W) ?- [) P6 i0 o
 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.
* _% v* P, p. ?/ p& q, E Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.1 j/ }' ^) k& D
 Create and update clients files on Mobius computer system

 Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period

 Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan
! C7 L: x& q0 t Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
- v# n8 l! Y+ @& ?" y& ] Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada
& X2 a( U4 N: x: a8 W: e Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants" `1 ]: e, ~2 ~- M* S
 Complete participant reviews with the participants
7 N) M' m& F+ V6 q% \* S Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion+ Z# M4 N# w2 Z; k
 Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator9 l- i* e5 c; u& L
 Update clients files on Mobius computer system
