Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer

 Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.8 x  @' ^4 ?  Z% C% b: z
 Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.

 Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.

Settlement Counsellor
9 Q) J8 o. m2 y& i( q" E" Q Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.

' n" H* }. s% s4 L1 a Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.

 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
- n# P0 K; I) e- G Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.& u9 u" J/ I  ~, F+ ?! z* g" {
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.. j+ r( U: j. _0 y* U
 Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements./ e- c% l& G3 [: x/ f( O6 |
 Keep up-to-date all other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Co-ordinator.  V8 Z- U4 f& b
 Represent Bredin Institute at meetings, conferences, seminars and other events

 Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.
/ [) C/ ]: u, f  k/ X Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.
2 U' _/ J: u; a) m7 E Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.

 Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period

' k5 j) A1 _5 ^ Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada
; k% ]6 @' q3 o8 A  @7 E* N0 X Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants
7 N, O- S5 W3 O. M* V0 z Complete participant reviews with the participants
( p  p) T* ~. f Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion
