Diagnosing diesel engine malfunctions and making indicated repairs
Operating machinery in a safe and effective manner
& z9 u+ d/ Y( V8 FProviding daily locomotive maintenance that includes changing oil or repairing, replacing, cleaning and adjusting parts

# y0 d( U3 [' n: K8 h' cDiagnosing locomotive component malfunctions
) q( x$ `/ n8 Q  HPreparing inspection, work and maintenance reports
Performing other functions as assigned

Visual acuity and hearing threshold tests are required for this position. Written pre-employment tests to become a Machinist Apprentice are required for this position. Completion of 3-year apprenticeship is required to become a Journeyman Machinist. This position is subject to night, weekend and holiday work hours when needed.
