Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
1 `, D6 J* z( [' Q4 F) Z# ? Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
, L" B! m2 v2 @3 Y% w+ T% n Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
# j) \" ~: \; D* ]+ q) _ Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
' Y2 I+ ~2 _' w* S( d; H; ] Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
) e8 ~. F  s/ s1 f Current RSW designation preferred   
3 n/ q% X2 N  K& Y/ v' ` Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
6 u& O" {- [8 B( r5 w0 c2 o$ _( I Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
, p& z' t5 j/ {5 _0 r; S/ E Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
# }+ {7 X5 u2 a Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
' O- Z( P* d* C. v, ~1 e! b- N Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
) _4 ?. `; W: @4 \2 B4 A Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
