Responsibilities
# J0 M+ I; r. N& D1 g9 D Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
3 U% a& q6 p; E Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
1 f9 U+ @+ m, A: \; n% F Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
4 Z0 ]( F. S6 `1 t- p- N( X. C Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
5 m7 J! H1 ?0 @  g8 {6 b- s Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
# M( b2 d4 q: B/ T; ~+ r6 l) M Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
6 R. i4 b4 P, d5 A" | Current RSW designation preferred   
9 P. o, f5 z# D1 J Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
3 Y6 J% d+ m% h6 A2 H2 i; Z Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
/ W! o0 r* k+ { Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
% G+ f4 \- g- @$ ^$ _- |( i Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
* g* X- G6 x: j Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
7 H9 n0 v$ p! f9 r$ D8 Z" @* S Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
