Key Responsibilities & Duties:

) H" M$ i  x$ V6 H- w1 v Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
$ Y$ R& m1 `- j- g' b* G  L& P Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
! N( b* Z( s  r+ [7 z Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
7 T' E6 H" S, T- z+ [6 S Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
; M9 K$ j) y6 x Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
% w* ?5 ]3 t5 N Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

; c! Y8 V1 f6 L8 p6 `6 d5 b/ @
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
  ]$ r& O. \8 M) S6 K! C( ] Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
" f: E7 P- _3 |- ^& C9 t3 I Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
- J" y6 |( e# _ Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

! @) ?" B; K8 g! B" ]" _This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
! w. I3 o' K9 nThere is a 3-month probationary period.
