Key Responsibilities & Duties:

: \/ n! j% f3 e. ^# G Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
: j) t2 D* y# n' a* N! g Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
7 x  d. a3 @9 K4 M* U) i5 p Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
+ i  P1 G$ g6 ` Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
# j" ]: o. n+ b' @. w Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
) m" H; k: d1 p; [+ W, @8 h& m  H Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
. |7 F% S6 W; x( I9 a2 ^0 [9 r7 K Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
1 G5 ^9 y0 i7 B/ Z$ @6 }; `5 Y
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
( T5 {3 i" G; e$ l* U Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

$ ^8 i( Q1 |0 i. vThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
