Key Responsibilities & Duties:

, v3 Y, g! A& `& v# G. U Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
. n1 X/ v1 d. g2 ~& L Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
% q' S: T; k; ^  c/ @ Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
  M" s: ?/ q4 J* ~" O+ C1 } Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
$ R8 J& A+ e* ~# N1 ^: V Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
. M+ Y7 C4 ?% {2 ?3 T Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
& A5 @# t' I: G# H" e; k Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

- P8 w/ P" ]5 V$ C0 I1 _) l: i0 a Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
) A$ o7 ?5 w- E5 a! o$ A Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
" ^! \7 X4 a3 u Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
( Y9 O; k$ e* J/ \7 Z8 a  K2 C  z  V Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

) o% U$ U0 c4 qPosition:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
  c; _+ J5 Z$ n6 wThere is a 3-month probationary period.
