Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
8 o/ `* M+ J( u3 z Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.6 J% r8 ?5 n0 j6 h. W
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
* u+ u3 k; |" q Completing required paperwork.9 x( E* {( w( m; U+ E
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.3 D S9 ~4 r1 V2 f/ Y6 g
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.

 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
/ W- a: ?- h' o! o3 E Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
: J0 `% t) t0 b- e Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.: O4 I* X; J/ F1 ^# G3 ^1 }
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth., S9 B' C t( _5 _1 _
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.3 I$ ^1 E) I8 E4 b% ]+ r8 B' l; S
 Knowledge of community resources.7 B/ E* Z' F) O/ V; p
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
3 [4 O0 d% H" T3 G' a# G Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
i: _* Y! ?2 L3 ~This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
/ @* A+ f3 x4 E3 P+ Lstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
