Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
" x& J7 ~. O) p3 K; T7 S Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
# L9 e% U; N+ [! h Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
' o- R- s, [& c' b% p Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
) {% I0 h$ u# f- n, C9 F3 F, S" F Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
. H& f; H" @! s8 p; f Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

, _9 v5 K7 M# C% Y0 i  W- M
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
! ~" Z4 N/ U9 F( N Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
% j$ W, I" P5 D Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
5 z5 k1 s& A. w" W Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

- F, M; j4 N# j5 P5 d1 qThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
- \' R/ r6 }- Q) @% tstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
