Key Responsibilities & Duties:

0 I3 h1 p3 [- r' q2 n( c, g) ~ Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
! ]1 K- p; \: D+ J9 h  D Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
0 z3 B5 `2 F  j Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
$ D$ x, d2 F' W/ q# T! X+ @ Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
$ X: _6 N5 c$ b3 k; K5 a Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

2 t* ~% h/ y* J; jQualifications:

5 {8 s  g5 {* O) u! `$ C& I- c# ?$ ~ Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
% W5 }5 }& q" j% H3 j* {9 [ Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
) h& s0 ], i+ o6 P  P* D3 G% O& y( E Knowledge of community resources.
( @  r3 d& ?6 u1 n! G  R Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
/ }6 C% R9 c3 g1 W! S2 C Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
! g( y; d0 c; N! g5 u$ X$ y# cThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
- u: |' v, `6 ]" j: Qstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
