The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.' J4 X* c; ]5 ]

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

OPERATIONS
; Y' y) p7 l2 V8 n o; p• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.5 L! o! B9 E! g% A3 r# q( a
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
2 h0 U9 G" E3 [& C• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
3 S: S+ L0 w2 |' U• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
2 F# o/ y( D0 Z" }$ Y• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
% M* y4 n8 d' S8 |! |) P• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.; J# v6 X+ B& O0 l( S% r( Y: x
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.+ X% k* }& a2 d, |
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities3 P7 }3 S3 k0 O& k+ I& O) c
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required+ j1 A, U. {' y/ X3 l

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
' J4 t5 {# b! W' d% R; `• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up5 T9 A2 w& E2 F- l, y' O6 i7 w" j. L

ADMINISTRATION7 x/ K- H; F$ z
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position8 L2 s0 r \- F% D; m9 f
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation% K {" g! B2 T1 L( f0 t; S
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate K* b5 M3 n# x% k5 K
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department; n8 J) Q0 i @6 ` [4 C8 g
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required ) U1 n5 B0 a% r) H8 Q
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
& y* s$ \. x: E7 [. c: ]• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
% K1 l) n2 k! E: H4 O- e; c• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
. U1 F% Z$ }4 q7 ~0 A8 k5 B% e+ |& \• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances+ U# }% H. v3 U* L2 [9 D- F
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

3 l4 J; |( r6 e6 vINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
: h; q. A7 e% R3 ^* q' g: ]• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
# J- `& o8 k8 r, R0 n• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
/ b. ~; }% _, K• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
) P; K9 Q$ y) [* h9 s! H# O$ t• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required1 v: |; Q% w+ B7 G' M3 E9 s8 o2 D2 {

Qualifications:
Q, z, | P( l7 j! F! d, {3 M( M i5 K9 l! h/ b9 a
• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination" f9 A' L9 r5 }) D/ D% j
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
' e" W* G U6 a* l; @• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
/ g* ^/ K2 b" ~• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
0 u" S) z& d% C# Q1 P4 ~; s9 Z• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure( [. ?" z0 ]* f% \
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 0 _- C- {" a6 p B3 ~3 W
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
) B! b" n, E$ i; J5 `• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial / a. P& I, |& u" m
