The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
* K" k9 B* ^2 }: b/ a5 G4 ^• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.8 i9 n0 x* F$ b2 p& V
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
0 `* v1 _$ v& p* s5 ~9 ~• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
; g+ o; `' D/ Q$ y" q ]• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
' O4 a3 i% X _) M4 p" T• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
# }& a3 h1 v7 _. D• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.+ W. X8 f0 X1 M# I% [. R
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities( i) R3 q/ I+ W; `& r/ |
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required, V" E Q/ f$ w- q) v( o

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
. G! a$ s/ N) S) T3 _6 y& |• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
6 H/ V8 a2 C p• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
/ {1 t/ _" e, l8 a* i• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
$ f/ X$ G2 T1 D1 S% {• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
. v9 H6 A J6 U9 c5 x• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
. ]; \" T$ f: r/ {2 b: Q: ?• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
6 E1 F$ q6 S8 J# N/ |; g" ~: s• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

3 e! F( R b- b6 p+ c6 I i• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
1 x; R6 |4 [' q9 O7 q# S3 \, t ~• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta) |/ |% e" j* E& \8 R9 |
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate : S! Q7 ^. ~9 |% m9 t2 T+ C
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:

, }& i+ Q8 D6 D• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination, j+ Y- G& t v3 u
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
; Y7 [% F- d* l9 I9 Z# i• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
% l( J& ^7 K! l, |2 t2 h% o9 A2 W8 \1 K• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
' V7 D8 ~' l$ Z+ T" \& Y- u5 Q5 n1 E• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure t4 X {" G- s, e# b7 D' |9 T' j
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
' ]2 ]: g+ D6 e( Q8 Z5 O( f• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality+ l) r1 v, L; C6 |
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
