The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

4 @' E. i$ o0 k& I• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events., z$ h! [4 T6 ^3 Y7 C
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.: |( l. J$ L3 T# B% R
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge6 `8 w% I, |& ~. ?9 ^
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.* ^$ M' m( U/ T K; b
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
3 }% v5 D7 v2 Y+ [• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
5 o7 O, L( _4 l- X8 {6 {4 u' H |• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING

• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up9 h2 D% s+ d3 P7 h. {# _& H5 _

8 z6 b7 \, K6 d• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
$ e* Q3 B& T' t) T0 b( O• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation! A5 T2 H9 G6 E# b
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate2 ~$ j& w9 i, H2 h; V% R, b
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
* M/ m3 J2 x0 l9 b• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 2 X3 b; C7 l$ z, m, {! ]3 Y( B
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances* O! d7 l; C. Q- x1 x
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS |$ x) z* W- d! N" A' O* t
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
3 \1 t4 U3 c; K8 t8 o/ ]4 F• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)6 x0 b: T) B, P# Y) v/ ^
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate : C4 E8 E0 \+ I' C" V; m" q5 L
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:
! I+ {( A- N/ a
$ ~5 g/ O) q% Z0 m8 K• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination/ n: D/ \& P9 l, {) B, Q9 d# w9 V; ~
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability2 T. v0 ~" Y7 R; _7 k6 d
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills3 n( N O0 F, P! n1 V
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
% ]. m5 k( T/ x' \' |( Q. @• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure1 F, a; g0 ~. p
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 8 P- ?' z1 C& n
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
