Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
/ ?1 m( M. G+ k! j Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
, }6 x# n. P6 W* ]. G Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
. ?! y' j- i* @/ C; [& w Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
3 }: [- y& W3 m' ]4 t Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
  N8 h! r1 |) z8 G Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
$ T' W8 n0 |( h, @9 v. H5 ~ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
! ^7 S0 X: K9 D( s! F/ w  I: k Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
) k. j% J2 i9 o7 L) w, [ Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
: I) V# R# A+ m7 ^ Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
