Key Responsibilities & Duties:

: U; H" D* i! a( m: T, N Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
0 O" L" J' W% F Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
6 c- D; j, s5 s: R. b Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
5 e& ~- F, A: {* ^0 @ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
) q. ]  m' ]# d: }: X& y- Z Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.

- S6 o' X' [! ]% {+ T Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
) W5 e8 `- x# }2 ?6 }This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
& T/ `3 [' F2 X2 Q+ e- y, u+ A( ystarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
