Key Responsibilities & Duties:

% t# w4 o; X; Q" T4 g: N$ ]" A3 l' V) [ Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
( m4 v) u! k5 ?( M9 C Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
* r6 y* S( H  G, }% y Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
3 D7 J; Q( s8 t( d Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
4 O" O' T0 `* j1 C- F9 _0 P5 @ Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
( f  V1 K( M$ Z1 f- I Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

' s& \( d/ _+ s6 }/ E: D Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
1 k6 P" _5 Q7 b4 ?# [( ]- c6 N, l& H Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
+ j  J5 h' G: ^1 ] Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
+ v: V& U; n6 ~8 o, Z/ f9 U Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
% a1 `3 H* c. ?2 p* B Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
3 D0 y6 a  g* jstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
