Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre


Key Responsibilities & Duties:

5 w7 r- \* M" ]" y) { Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
7 o) P# J% _/ `' G& C8 m; k7 G6 ~$ a Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
3 U/ O* Q- b2 O; J0 }. g5 m% P Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
0 Z8 J0 O$ t1 ]$ X" Z Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
) {+ O3 y6 e( {! Y! Y( i Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
8 B* V8 G3 F# P% u. k1 _
( B3 Y/ n) v: J2 } Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
/ [+ y' C9 K. E4 e( A( v1 Q Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.

 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
. H# M5 H. o0 r$ t5 [( {starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
