Position: Manager, Community Development / Status: Full time (1Year Term- Maternity Leave) / Salary: competitive & based on education and experience / Closing Date: 4:00 p.m. July 16, 2010.

5 i5 ]" S1 A( bPrimary Purpose: Working primarily with local immigrant communities and community leaders to help them understand and engage with the communities. Nature of Work: Reporting to the Director of Settlement and Integration, the Community Development Manager is responsible for the overseeing, development and implementation of EMCN’s community development strategies.
; E5 T/ u; T: j& j, e$ R' h& h! Q3 J2 u
Key Accountabilities: provide leadership training/recruiting of community practitioners to network with existing immigrant/refugee community based organizations; support them to enhance their skills and services; assist immigrant and refugee communities through training/workshops in board development, volunteer recruitment, strategic planning & community engagement; establish & maintain relationships between EMCN and immigrant/refugee communities.

PLUS: assist immigrant/refugee communities with identifying community needs through a needs assessment; act as a liaison between immigrant/refugee communities + mainstream organizations in order to improve awareness/understanding of the challenges facing immigrant & refugee communities; writing funding proposals and submitting reports/evaluations. Qualification: University degree or diploma in a related field such as Community Development, Economic Development, Human Ecology, Volunteer Management or related. Experience: Five plus years of Community Development experience.
