As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
: g/ J) r: Y# o" x4 QEnterprise Data
) [! w3 G4 S- y• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.

• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

/ R, T( l' z9 m# E; \SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
1 j; b: F$ y% M: E• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
* A: Q' _7 Z- b' M; G, s• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
- [  J/ j# I7 R( p- Y• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
: H" _# `* ?- V1 V8 ]0 Q# m5 {• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
* ^$ d  M6 c# a- Y/ }• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
, B( O! H7 A3 h• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
