: y/ K: y) i: LAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 o$ i" ~/ L: a, B7 g) iEnterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
% U; E: a( h  i: p3 A4 V  I' s4 DBi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
+ s" |" W! Q# c% c• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
8 q# h, d4 s5 @• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
" \% I$ w1 H% Y% t" Z/ e2 `* [• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
4 a- u2 v5 e& C- ~& J) u• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
; @4 j0 |+ x" s# a3 |  n8 J3 m• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
; _! u$ W) {1 ^- ~: H• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
& G- c, z. Y& |• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
. j- }4 e( ~( w% p6 s3 A# \- q% G• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
