Department Information

W( ^! ^* }# h Gas Development is comprised of natural gas business development, Enbridge investments in existing gas infrastructure and investments in long-term gas development initiatives.  The Group currently manages investments totaling $1 billion, with earnings of approximately $100 million.   This new Senior Business Advisor position will report directly to the Director Finance & Control, Gas Development.  The position will work closely with Business Development Management to ensure financial planning models for existing businesses reflect the most current commercial & economic outlooks.  This position will also develop initial financial models, and analyze risks and opportunities, related to potential new businesses identified by Gas Development.

/ o, F" L/ k* t: t" X Maintain and analyze financial models of existing Gas Development investments to ensure financial performance meets corporate expectations; where appropriate, identify opportunities to optimize commercial values;

Work closely with Gas Development Management to ensure financial models reflect current commercial contracts and economic / financial outlooks;
/ `2 d6 G8 g& W& _- {# i1 h
2 j6 G/ I2 k2 R  R, I) nOngoing risk assessment and determine impacts for financial planning;

; \/ ?$ T# `  r$ K8 [1 g' c1 R& ]" \Liaise with senior financial representatives from partners/JVs to ensure an understanding of key financial/commercial issues and the impact to financial results and forecasts;
! h7 [, w0 ?7 f. w" o5 H0 z) n' G( w
6 Q9 M5 o. Z. r8 @. r: mWorking closely with Gas Development Management, will develop initial financial models and evaluations of natural gas infrastructure opportunities valued in the range of $100 million to $1 billion+;

3 C4 w& @, I; Q, g3 vWork closely with Senior Advisors/Managers of Corporate Development & Investment Review to ensure consistency of financial evaluation techniques for new opportunities and ensure clear and timely communication of project risks and opportunities;
% c/ v% \' u. s& P& G" Y5 dManage the input of various Corporate Departments in assessing new and existing capital investments;

Provide financial support for investment proposals to Senior Gas Division & Enbridge Management;

5 l5 B$ V: N* B: ?( V% f0 h+ M1 cSpecific responsibilities include: preparation and review of financial models; managing the financial assessment of commercial structures and operating environments, provide advice on key financial assumptions; and assess opportunities & risks of current / proposed investments; determination of asset values/bid prices; use of appropriate valuation methodologies; and due diligence reviews.

Qualifications  
+ d5 M8 g% j* T3 p Business/Finance Degree coupled with an MBA, CFA or accounting designation.

' q8 y2 Q# |  V6 I$ t10-15 years financial experience at progressively senior analyst/advisor levels within the energy industry;

6 B& P  b5 N1 ^9 zGas industry experience preferred;

Extensive experience in financial analysis, accounting, financial planning or strategic planning;

" ~$ ~# D: f2 X) OExperience in business evaluations and due diligence with respect to large scale energy projects;

Strong business acumen, collaboration and interpersonal skills;

A high degree of personal initiative;
! R9 A( h, ?: y# K& p, z# F
Strategic thinker.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
