Primary purpose: The Social Worker works in partnership with settlement workers or 6 ]- i! D; g- g/ \3 [1 {
community cultural brokers from New Canadian Health Network partner organizations to

: z# Z" v7 g5 k1 C- G8 L x Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services.
$ v# u& `6 L# N3 j4 mThe position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
& U, Y$ `/ R* C+ K! K, z9 R. H# z3 Ynewcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social . D( T! x! V. Q4 S1 T. K! B+ t
Worker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as # ?5 ~9 H& j. Q1 g3 {
needed. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for
; P, b% }0 l# @- d1 z, i. `! Anewcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial # I3 k' h+ o1 h7 `
assessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-

Developing of social networks and community supports for newcomer families.

2 \; K( C0 n# t$ M& t& I Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and

support needs
