What Makes Christmas Magical

During the Christmas season, summer and its body-conscious state of mind
% h9 p* Y' V  o$ jare distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas
, q* G; b+ W$ |# v8 y7 ?therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a 9 p. r% C- F; n, n0 d
pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
, e& @8 u$ Z& `eat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can ( k) u! [5 D) p* T& @
smartly avoid it?' T. \/ k" J2 [+ m
?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
, Z, d- `& N9 l; ?7 bat a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
$ f' B  h% {2 J& {3 B6 m+ hto be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of + s4 c$ A$ b, `+ C
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a
3 |. D' D* P/ O/ L) h& ~3 Q6 VBudget.'

8 n: H' m, @; eto a lot of cookies, candies and other sweets at Christmas. At work, you may ; G& d  u& _& \* ^
risk appearing like the Grinch who stole Christmas if your response will always
# o1 C6 j$ e- n1 n  I1 dbe something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies 2 g7 [) W7 |/ c& i5 g  e
are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays : L" v2 F3 x% r) _" k9 Y* q8 Z' s7 n
especially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more
2 v% r0 u" V* a" trelaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. + P9 |% [$ ]# ?! h0 I4 p" H
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to , P6 N: K  o' f0 }9 n
substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with
8 W( a9 e. R$ J5 j5 v$ q: Pbreakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie, 6 f$ f+ Z6 W9 k. k' F4 b
from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to ( f! @+ a, Y0 c/ c6 q: `
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into ! ?4 ?% t6 \% Y
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will
/ s. Q4 f" [' N+ C7 Xbe watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or
' X8 E" s: G8 f/ k" Sa cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are + N; L, f8 S- a
heartily enjoying the holiday treats.? + f+ ^- i8 g9 n+ ~' u  x7 U7 S0 w5 I
?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies : [, M4 \" B! y/ S1 X& \( L* L0 D
and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating 4 ?5 ?' k- w) J3 X; Y! a' F3 S7 h, c
healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down ' L" s) Q, x9 |( K3 j2 v/ ^
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
* e. B& p* N- c& A9 [; @1 v9 k) ?candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.

For an occasion such as a Christmas party or a dinner, including Christmas

on a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected % ^% a" [+ t& w2 S
should be carefully watched. - g7 |% P2 w1 K
At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of
( J" g: ?3 V: w3 dthe selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted, + C* X# D# J! o5 y1 q
then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is ; R: M3 |9 u4 q1 I
somewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served

And indeed,juicy couture shoes, after a sumptuous Holiday Dinner, your body is likely to be full

tradition with family, friends and loved ones.
