During the Christmas season, summer and its body-conscious state of mind

pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then

smartly avoid it?

at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
7 P6 _4 a8 a) C' c/ s/ {: V. Uto be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of 6 |  ^5 D: l/ Y* w
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a
9 W, \5 @2 _2 w  jBudget.'8 ]" Z# m8 Z6 S; X9 ^/ q' b

especially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more 5 a  v$ v: M5 l5 v1 m
relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. # f+ i0 r5 J; b2 K5 n! G9 g
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to   S$ d. Z+ b/ g5 ]0 X2 L8 ?8 V) a
substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with 8 {) O# u2 D8 o
breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
* n! A% L" R! ]from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to 3 a" Z6 e$ W3 U4 R* q: v" l
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into , {( ~0 c' i9 p$ `
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will ! i/ u3 ]8 _3 ~5 p1 ?% P; p
be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or

?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies
/ H- d+ L; i$ b' G7 |; _9 B0 ]and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating 4 N6 U" @( O/ b+ u2 p# \$ }
healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down
5 U6 m9 r& s+ v- l' R% dupon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate   q" b: x  Y; W0 E* f2 {2 y
candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies. 7 I9 [  g- J  C; m
It's interesting to note that in a poll sponsored by the National Confectioners

Dinner, where larger quantities and selection of food is available, the 'Eating
* Y+ x+ w% E0 Y5 L$ T' K" u3 fon a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected ) m2 h8 Q) N" ]" ^
should be carefully watched. , n3 Y$ |: Q8 i$ t; d- x
At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of 2 |& m. h4 k7 f5 ?+ @) ]
the selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted, * Y+ e6 q$ T2 M9 P( Y4 c  U2 T6 H
then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is 3 F, h$ `7 V6 T0 q' D. ~
somewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served
