Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 1 A( {" K/ d3 n" z# B& {
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: ; {2 O5 t" j' E3 i" L5 N& N

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ; q& O( E7 V4 ]* K% Z
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ( i3 o6 `- c; N# D- N/ o4 E
the Board of Directors;
& D& q3 u/ W5 t! k• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
" V9 }( n/ i8 {, ]5 Gincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
- O8 u, r# T, b wenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ! I$ I: k1 G6 J! O. r
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and : b6 X5 ]' L; ?. v* k* S; c
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ! s2 R4 { x4 U- E* D
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 9 }9 H9 u, Q9 D1 C6 n; o3 u- E7 n
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
, Y& x6 h% G, t: Z. s2 U' {• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 7 C$ P5 c* W9 @9 ?' v& D

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue + h2 \' ?% B* F* q/ @
commitments;

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective

• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

# j# `* r. ^( p2 W6 c$ z$ _• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
0 ]. r/ J1 _! {8 ?( m- I5 O2 a! xthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
; \# R* t( f7 B2 y5 R• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal g4 M) h: T9 h: U4 H, @# p3 f
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED - r+ H2 h7 a6 @! q6 D' \8 z- E, M+ Z
the forthcoming year; & j# w: c7 h8 p* s' C9 `$ |0 u
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical " A5 h5 e, q1 |
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

+ B# Y. P+ l% C4 ^• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

2 V8 z: R0 f% s6 Q* S• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
3 b$ O1 X0 o( l/ h# j1 i, E) R• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
2 M0 C, d" s2 z4 T& mabilities;
|& \) n! C$ R7 {+ [• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ) `( n- ~, l: A: N9 c+ ]
Networking and Fundraising;
% s4 m: G# u; @. \; R5 J5 U• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting . i2 U: k+ B% t- I* K$ @
and financial statements; and

centered perspective.
