Any input on Cutler-Hammer Starter?

% M, z& k# k$ ]$ P After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the  start and stop buttons on DCS screen  , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again.
2 {3 @4 a% w5 VIt is a cycle.

! g# a- g. ?3 T4 H% UWe isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.
. c; k% |; J% h9 Z! gSwap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.
The problem should be inside the bucket.

When the problem happened, we observed that  the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.
Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.
Confirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we  bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.

1 k8 H% a$ I  S1 U( j  MThe next thing we can think of  is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.
They  have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered  the connection and tried again.
7 J4 A, o3 P  ^# j7 z It is getting better  this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.

4 s& @/ M. l# Y" s0 xThe coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them.

Don't know cutler –hammer advantage  starters very well, but had been worked on AB switch gears for a little while, which has two different coils, one to pull the vacum bottles up which employs larger current, another one uses less current to hold the connection---if the second coil fails, it won't be able to seal the connection.
' h' _  m7 m: m8 K+ g& uSince your cutler -hammer works couple times,  I guess 侠客行 is right, or the sealing connection is just worn out.
