Responsibilities
( L! }% z) h/ _  D6 @$ }6 ZAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
9 H* k# N9 [8 x/ f( n* C$ kMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
' M0 c! y# k% a# W9 F% LMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.

Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
" b/ N+ l9 {) ]6 q9 `; ^/ pMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
  m- P5 x* i7 f9 \Computer skills an asset.
. J' K2 z- @; y! g4 ^5 IAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
