Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.
Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).
Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

Responsibilities:
-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
: |  ?9 |0 j. c8 b, P8 f+ V-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
  `. s" _( g4 P5 m/ }( G-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

) c, O! l  q* [- ZKey Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
9 L8 [5 l" C- K5 V1 N-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

" }) b- B: u& L- _! P-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation

1 R4 i8 W. r2 C) h) a-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
- h& {( V# Y4 Y, D# @-        Skills in marketing & promotions
. |1 `: v9 v3 i. X; [( U" s3 l# t$ R-        Some evening and weekend work may be required


Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
