Responsibilities:
/ \% q' F6 Y, y" L7 n: R$ W( a- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
7 b0 A& ?: i7 O- i% J& N- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling% f9 A8 H$ o& }
- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
6 _1 l. k4 J' p5 K; b+ s9 i- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs" |8 I% a3 o9 A' [9 s5 Q* c
- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:: A, w/ }2 \" z, E2 A$ v
- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
N3 d! k6 i: Q t- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
- I" A3 F& d$ C4 y5 _/ ]4 a- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
$ B) n3 C& b7 V2 Q' ?" W8 W- E: _- Experience doing program development, ]$ i& l: Z# |: C$ P* p, ~
- Strong organizational and coordination skills$ e7 v: G$ N1 p* Y# y
- Self-directed and able to take initiative# R4 U$ ^/ c2 D- A! y) M) k
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset/ ~4 U- b2 c( u* e" F
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license2 p: b+ |' ~7 X. V0 {

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation' W s M& t1 `4 O, u
- Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities8 i& j) I9 M, k( M2 t
- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health

- Some evening and weekend work may be required, D6 f7 g. \4 a9 S# c, u
