- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
# c d8 p& M" G- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
4 P9 }" \/ [; J# V* V- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
1 g! `3 d$ ?/ r$ A& y L" t- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs& K6 W1 X; s8 F5 p! s& o b
- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health' r# o) ~5 Y V+ F$ X, G
9 P" `3 q" \5 B6 s$ _
: r, e! p- e( g& y/ C% z/ jKey Qualifications:
3 B$ N3 M% Z# C3 q6 @5 Y& R9 Z- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
/ s8 C$ `! j9 c0 x2 ]+ O- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
7 d7 t8 e( B: s C2 U) G! L4 N- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
0 B/ V# g8 q" t. L9 Z, e- Experience doing program development
. N; u0 m/ O& F8 w% B- Strong organizational and coordination skills4 w' }9 J0 z4 X3 ?6 ~ |! E
- Self-directed and able to take initiative
$ s, I+ y1 \ o- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset7 _5 y/ j' Z; _+ O
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license% m2 g1 y; s i3 X: c& H1 o
