To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:

7 F% M0 i. e1 r) G9 J" \5 Whave at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician 8 q+ o! i! k1 Y7 o
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.% H# h* X" f" e# e! F& ]1 o
2 U, ?" w/ v& x: Gcomplete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office

C, @0 a0 t0 q8 BThis application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
