Field Operator - Balzac

Position Overview  
The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
7 K" X7 B. s9 P% @1 x- V -  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
3 c1 [) _) S. `$ J, e/ h0 I& t9 I-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
, D4 J  S' A+ y+ |) X) L& {, C  A- W-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
! {! O- B' [  B, U" R4 }0 i; v-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
! n, b5 h- t  d" X; R. p-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

$ V) }8 z) j8 r! U, C - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
# t$ D  `: }3 G0 M/ r-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
8 s( p  s! @/ r! H6 H-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
" q+ |; }* I; Q$ i* Z* k-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
: n. d" H  r6 d! y-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
