' E. w0 w- a: ?. @ AThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.0 I, U1 S$ R- C
Eligibility Criteria4 L& y* K4 _$ |; e1 r: Y) S+ X9 w
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
' i0 G$ Z+ p' x# c2 d•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
1 g; q5 |9 R- Z' N•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
0 g* O9 x. r/ y0 D$ n•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
; t, k0 Z# M$ E' h•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada & }. c3 G& S7 Y7 ?& o2 Y B
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field+ `3 }6 f6 J# k0 ^" b( v8 f
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
: L) h0 F+ z& E/ Y: e•Be eligible to work in Canada' y$ H3 c, M0 m' ?
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
. c/ p: v3 [3 ~3 Q( U% j, ?5 q•Lack access to professional networks$ @4 R' f" j5 q' |6 x" b
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning

The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week., N# r8 Q! } p- Z. j0 Z1 B
