THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:

This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
' K% Q+ q$ Y+ F* d. S. a& MEligibility Criteria$ s( o' f0 v+ S* Z9 H: o" K6 G
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:! B' U) d8 T( v
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less- v# k: y* Y W: C6 ]8 y
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
4 Z' r/ S, l$ P) R9 ^. a•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
, o( p2 r1 p$ x( \•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
4 F% n+ Y* q |•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
0 x% Q# R$ s" K! C•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
% u4 |$ f- @( K8 P( [•Be eligible to work in Canada
# t2 ]8 [2 v, W! n! f! R0 _ [•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop- p" N& s8 c+ _' s3 B% c" y$ V. G
•Lack access to professional networks
$ H& e" x1 F) r' t* I•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning' x9 u6 j, `: c' x1 z
Time Commitment7 O) O) s; B& f7 p7 L) j. {' F0 Z+ Z# W' b
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
